In honor of his jersey number #44, we’re using April 4 to announce that Anthony Rizzo will be joining us at the 2026 @BankofAmerica #ChicagoMarathon!

As baseball season gets underway, he’s swapping innings for miles. Alongside former teammates Jake Arrieta and Matt Szczur, he’ll be running in support of the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation and raising funds for pediatric cancer.

His training is already in full swing, and he’s looking forward to experiencing the city he’s spent so much time in from a whole new perspective: running through 29 of its vibrant and diverse neighborhoods on race day.

Grant Park’s first start line of 2026 is tomorrow at the @BankofAmerica #ShamrockShuffle! Many of our Chicago-area marathoners use the 8K Run to kick off their training season and will be back in October to cross the final finish line. Good luck to everyone running on Sunday, let’s make 2026 the best year yet!

This just in: alongside our largest finisher field in event history, the 2025 @BankofAmerica #ChicagoMarathon generated a record $755.9 million for the Chicago Metropolitan Area economy, a 7.5 percent increase from 2024. 🤯⁠

More than 75 percent of our 54,383 finishers traveled in from outside Illinois, bringing their friends and family and spending multiple days exploring our city. We are so proud to show off our home and can’t wait to welcome more of you this October.
