I adore Kim and her films, I am thankful Aslı put us on the same path. We are screening all of Kim Torres’ short films in celebration for the closing of her residency @at.magnet tonight in New York. Thank you @metrograph for hosting us for another program. I’ll talk with Kim about the light, about symptoms, about the invisible on screen and about how if inside our selves were to be a landscape, it would probably be a city. Tix are sold out, thank you so much to everyone who bought a ticket for tonight’s program, we will see you there. @kim__torrent forever🔦p is from Kim’s first film Atrapaluz (2021) opening tonight’s screening.

Dawn brings morning, brings Cavafy, through Coste Lewis, the hero and the goat.
“Le tissage des imperceptibles sensations: les pensées, les mémoires, les souvenirs, les rencontres… A chaque seconde qui passe, 60 milliards de neutrinos par centimètre carré partent du coeur du soleil pour 8 minutes et 2 secondes plus tard nous traverser.” WM, Les verbes et l’écriture au Collège de France
Neutrinos look like the inside of Alabaster’s mosque in Egypt. Namwali Serpell on Toni Morrison quotes her “My language has to have holes and spaces so that the reader can come into it”
It’s nice for the morning to bring all the words of longing, the cartoons, all the dreams, my thoughts form and make me believe in all the parts of my imaginaries that I have yet to fathom. 7AM is the sweetest time of the day when nobody knows yet

Today from 4-6PM @99canal.nyc Abdulhamid Kircher is releasing his book New Genesis, a beautiful shattering devoted work made in collaboration with Sierra Kiss, mother of three who is surviving domestic violence and raising her children amidst the loop broken and failed systems of support.
This day comes together and creates a space for dialogue around the violence against women and children ongoing in U.S.A., everywhere and highly acute in the domestic space. We are convening artistic and scientific voices in order to discuss resources for direct crucial support, how art can be a tool to direct action and through this book fundraise to help bring urgent aid to Sierra and her family.
Thank you @99canal.nyc for the generous support ongoing, @bronwenwilla @donnaferrato @kircherabdul @muts_prints

I haven’t been on here at all lately, so please forgive me for all I’ve missed. I’d attempt complete removal from this platform, I post to keep archive but goal is that’s about it. The ongoing work…
For the last few months, I have been working with Ming Smith and her son Mingus on the first book of color photographs from Ming’s archive (@speciwomen @dashwoodbooks 2026 title). It’s been a deep journey filled with storytelling and spiritual touchstones.
When @naomi__asa invited Speciwomen to take over her show for the birth of Spring, I immediately thought one of the episodes should focus on all the sounds that emanate from Ming’s photographs, as well as the songs she is fond of, the ones she listens to, and embodies. Ming is a mountain of love, and a sea of creativity. The stories she holds, both in her images and in her spirit are like an orchid, or the quiet of a burning fire.
Alongside @siii_siii and @tybaltmooney_young , we recorded a mix that is an hommage to Ming, including the music of her son, Mingus Murray, whose album Unspoken Volume 1 came out on Sunday.
If you know me, you know I am a woman of loops, and this project has felt like a some type of full circle, a blessing and some light, on the days that tend to be dense.
Please give a listen to the mix, it’s up on the @nts_radio archive; free jazz, a capella, spiritual jazz and a lot of 80s self-love. The set closes on Isley Brothers’ Voyage to Atlantis.
I’ll share more details on the book soon… For now a few details of birds from an early Google search on Ming early on, she said to me one day “The birds… why can’t we be like them?”

Taking a break in editing for Genet, Genet, Genet (Chant d’amour, 1950) thank you Gregg Bordowitz, the notes from last night’s enlightening lecture… Quoting: We are others to our selves: each individual is an end in and of themselves.
For a world where we stand in ongoing refusal of the state and absolute love of lovers.
