Behind the scenes in Shanghai shooting on 16mm @kodak_shootfilm with my pals @fenderhsu and @chatien__ The short film accompanied to @shoe______other_shoe music follows a detective searching for a killer who has left brains in glass jars around town. I made this while in residence at @swatchartpeacehotel . The film was shot at locations that evoked a bygone era, further emphasized by the wardrobe, vehicles, and film stock. We had no permits, and at one point came up against a Shanghainese local who wasn't too happy about us filming in their building's motorbike parking lot. Luckily, Fender speaks the local dialect and was able to coax him down from punching me.
