When someone leaves incarceration, they often face a reentry gap: no ID, no money for a bus to get to work, and no safety net to cover the basics.

How does health coverage impact workforce participation? In the #CEOPolicyLab, we’re breaking down why Medicaid access is a prerequisite for long-term stability after incarceration—especially as new work requirements reshape who can stay covered.
Without access to real employment opportunities and support, many people risk losing healthcare before they’ve had a fair chance to reenter the workforce.
