Big Oil wants to be above the law, and communities are fighting back.

“This is a campaign that’s coast to coast,” said CCI’s Political Director Iyla Shornstein. “There are folks who have experienced increased hurricanes on the East Coast to intense wildfires on the West Coast.”

Big Oil wants legal immunity. Congress must not give in.

“Americans deserve not to be lied to by big corporations — they should be subject to the same laws everybody is subject to,” said Former Governor of Washington and U.S. Representative Jay Inslee. “We should have no kings in the White House and no kings saying they’re above the law.”

A coalition of watchdog organizations are calling for an investigation into Justice Samuel Alito’s “conflicted interests” in an upcoming Supreme Court case brought by fossil fuel giants Suncor Energy and ExxonMobil.

Alito’s decision to participate in the case, “when a finding in favor of the companies could directly and indirectly benefit both himself and his billionaire friend – is an indefensible breach of ethical boundaries,” said the organizations in a letter delivered to the Senate judiciary committee last week .

Why is the Trump administration fighting so hard to help Big Oil escape the courtroom? 🤔

Minnesota is suing ExxonMobil, the American Petroleum Institute (API), and Koch Industries for violating the state’s consumer protection law through a campaign of deception. It’s calling for the companies to stop lying, and is seeking financial restitution for the harms Minnesotans have suffered as a result of those lies.

Last month, the Minnesota Supreme Court ruled that the case could move into discovery, allowing the state to start gathering more evidence of Big Oil’s lies. Trump’s Department of Justice then sued Minnesota in an attempt to stop its case from going forward. Which begs the question: What is Big Oil trying to hide from juries?

EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin went on Fox News and lied about US oil production. Let me show you the receipts.

US oil hit 13.2 million barrels/day in 2024 —- an all-time record. That’s 200,000 barrels MORE than Trump’s 2019 peak. Seven consecutive years of world records.

Zeldin claimed we “didn’t drill enough.” The data says he’s full of it.

Meanwhile, China installed more solar in one year than we built in a decade. They’re winning the economic future while Zeldin’s still pushing fossil fuel talking points.
