CBVB makes music that lives somewhere between cinematic and conversational... part Leonard Cohen barroom confession, part Nilsson daydream, part “how did he even think of that?” He’s been at it for a bit now, quietly stacking songs that feel lived-in, strange, funny, and a little devastating in the best way.

Cult Canyon (feat. Chicago’s Josh Chicoine and a rotating cast of killers) is all about collaboration and world-building... lush, thoughtful, and proof that making something beautiful still matters. It’s a gorgeous sonic collision part the classic, psych-tinged indie rock of Chicoine’s Polyvinyl days with The M’s, part the expansive, avant-orchestral sweep you’d expect from collaborators out of Poi Dog Pondering and Helen Money.
