I met Jesper the other day at Stockholms Central Station. I saw him walking with a Technifibre bag and knew he was a tennis player what I didn’t know was how great a player he was! He was kind enough to invite me to the GLTK tennis club in Gothenburg for a hit. That has to be one of the coolest things about the sport, you can play anywhere with anyone! I am proud to say though I turned 38 this year I was able to hang tough with this young buck and even though I float like a butterfly with a stone on its back I also still can sting like a young and lethal bee!;-) here is the one point/shot I am happy with for the day! Thanks again to Jesper Huber!!! Next time we should hit in LA!!!!

Järnpojke. It is believed that if you rub the child’s head you shall receive good luck, but the fun thing about good luck is that only god knows. This is my first day in Stockholm Sweden, and it is funny how everyone’s experiences influence how they speak about a country and or city. Before arriving all I heard was how amazing the city and its people are. Sadly however in my travels through Ireland, Scotland, Norway, and now Sweden, it has been my least favorite but not because of the amazing architecture and infrastructure that it exhibits or the beautiful canals and exquisite buildings not to mention the amazing shopping it offers but more so because of my experiences. The first night I arrived my bag did not, and so@I have been here with no clothes forced to buy new ones, and last night while minding my own business talking to a +70yr old lady some dirtbag randomly came up to me and sucker punched me in the stomach for absolutely no reason I can think of other than maybe because he heard me speaking English. This experience has definitely left me somewhat bothered and perturbed and tainted my perception of this place. Which is disappointing to say the least since the only thing I had heard from everyone was how amazing Stockholm is. Today fortunately I met up with a friend from back home and he has helped turned the tide a bit and I am aware that you can’t let a few bad apples ruin the pie and so I’m still holding out for hope that this place maybe can not be #Swedensucks and actually become what everyone says of it.

A few days ago I was pressed for time on my vacation, what with wanting to do a 7-10 hour hike at Trolltunga and drive to a city 4-5hrs away in Stavenger, so there was only one choice and option if I wanted to do the hike… run when I can and keep a relentless pace for 11km up hill, with a 10kilo bag on my back and fortunately I am happy to say that I made it to the top early enough to have the rock and lookout mostly to myself. Along the way I passed and left most people behind but one… his name is Henry and is featured in the last Picture. He is from Sweden and not only kept up but was kind enough to ask the pictures illustrated in the post! It was a glorious morning as it was supposed to rain according to the experts who said 100% chance of rain. But thanks to the person upstairs he cleared the skies for our great effort and we got some great views and epic footage! Shortly thereafter on the way down it rained on us but it was all worth it and feel stronger mentally and physically for getting after it and finishing the hike in 5hrs and 15min which includes the savoring of the moment at the top!!! If there is another hike and any takers that want to get after it let me know and let’s plan something for the future but until then I’m happy to go it alone and meet awesome people along the way like Henry!!!
