I know this content is *not* for everyone … it’s for the 5 MILLION PEOPLE a year that have a Port-A-Cath implanted that want to know what it’s like to have it removed…AWAKE

When I was told I would have my port removed as an in-office visit where I was WIDE AWAKE…I needed to know what that looked like. I searched every hashtag, googled every key word & came up short.

The cancer community is unfortunately large. I hope this video reaches anyone who is nervous/scared to have their port removed.

Here’s what I know now:

➖You will be NUMB!!! The only thing you’ll feel is the lidocaine burning as it’s injected into the port site.

➖It takes 15 minutes.

➖You only feel PRESSURE.

➖It’s not scary.

➖Your body creates scar tissue around the port & your doctor is detaching the device from the scar tissue to be able to release/remove it.

➖You don’t feel the tube pulled out of your neck at all. It’s NOT like having your drain tubes removed.

➖The skin is closed up with about 6-8 dissolvable stitches.

➖You have no limitations afterwards. You’re just a little sore the next day. ICE 🧊& Tylenol💊
