With Zero Optik leading the design, every detail was carefully considered — pushing each focal length to its limits while achieving maximum sensor coverage, exceptional close focus, and a beautifully refined housing with incredibly smooth focus.

It’s compact enough that any lens in the set can be balanced on a Ronin RS4 with cameras like Sony FX3, Sony FX6, RED Komodo, and Freefly Ember, to name a few.

Most of the set also balances seamlessly on the DJI Ronin 4D.

What makes this set so compelling is the consistency across the lenses, without the typical variation you often find in vintage glass. The softness in focus and the character of the flares are very much to my taste — it felt like the look of film-to-tape transfers from the 1990s brought back into a contemporary context.

We primarily used the 35mm. Its smooth falloff gave a subtle sense of a ‘television-like perspective,’ which naturally shaped the tone of the piece.”

However, since Statera is 1.5x, it allowed us to operate without worrying about distortion as much. Another advantage is the relatively close minimum focus distance.”
