“somewhere, a dream is still dreaming of me”

I first found Samantha’s music on TikTok and instantly became a fan. Over time, we became internet pals, and after catching a couple of her shows, we kept tossing around ideas for a way to collaborate. Finally, we made it happen—Grateful for the chance to create with someone whose art I truly admire.

TOPANGA JOHNSON - “WHY I LIE”

what a privilege to be approached by one of my dearest friends to trust me with one of his first music videos for his new project Topanga Jonson.

i’ve been able to observe @tj_sullinger grow in talent and skill over the years and was lucky to collaborate with some of my closest friends and collaborators on a tight, efficient, and exciting set.

this video was a blast to shoot, and i’m having an even bigger blast editing it so far.

stay tuned April 1st.

“Once there were brook trout in the streams in the mountains. You could see them standing in the amber current where the white edges of their fins wimpled softly in the flow. They smelled of moss in your hand.“

I was ready to quit film.

After 4 years straight of working in production I had been completely burnt out.

I resolved to making one more project, as I didn’t want to wake up in 20-40 years wondering what might have happened if I didn’t give it one last try.

One last project to remind me why I started making any time of movie the first place: making stuff to laugh with my friends.

That’s exactly what we did with Banjo. We started production the first week of January with two days in Big Bear, and two more days the first week of March. We had our first test screening on St Patrick’s Day, and wrapped post Production in August.

Since September, we have been accepted into 11 film festivals all around the world, been nominated for 12 awards, and won 6, including Best First Time Director, Best Ensemble Cast, and Best Dark Comedy.

I’m so grateful to everyone involved in this absolutely ridiculous project, and everyone who I’ve met as a result. My passion for film has been reignited, and we have so many projects planned for 2025.

Thank you all so much. See you on set :)

I was ready to quit film.

After 4 years straight of working in production I had been completely burnt out.

I resolved to making one more project, as I didn’t want to wake up in 20-40 years wondering what might have happened if I didn’t give it one last try.
