The Jordan River Song …I’ve lately been thinking a lot about the musical language around folk songs and the storytelling that encompasses them. When I was growing up, my mother used to sit at the piano and teach me the folk songs that she grew up with in Ireland. The first time I heard The Jordan River Song by Emahoy Tsegue Mariam Gebru, I couldn’t help but recognize and be drawn to the similar spirit of the tone. Feels like a message being sent from the other side of the world...ISSUE #1 out now on all platforms 🤍

Issue #1 - Out Friday …the first track is our interpretation of Plain Gold Ring by Nina Simone, a song that seemed to follow me everywhere I went last summer.

This Friday I am releasing an EP called Issue #1.
It’s the beginning of a series of works that will come out in between albums. Think of it as short stories, ideas that we want to explore. This issue will focus on reworks of pieces by composers Nina Simone, Max Richter, Emile Mosseri, Emahoy Tsege Mariam Gebru & Radiohead. Out April 17.
