21. Ambiguous ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Coloured Pencils on watercolour paper
This was based off an OLDD painting I did in about 2017 I think, when I was about 14 and I used to draw expressive caricature-like faces all the time. Also loved using coloured pencils for this piece I forgot the level of realism that I can achieve w them compared to acrylic paint, had so much fun making this. have a beautiful day today 🐾

“PETRICHOR - CHERISH ME” 2024
Acrylic Paint, watercolour, salt, coloured and graphite pencil, and ballpoint pen on watercolour paper.

Hello !!!!! ☺️💕🌟 This is technically my first piece of the year, although I did most of it at the end of 2023. I want this piece to be able to speak for itself, I will explain some of the specific symbolism I have included however. This piece is a reflection and honouring for the people in my life that left this earth last year, by natural causes and by s*****e. having that happen within my own family has changed the way I view and value life forever, this piece holds my processing of that. The time it took me to complete this piece, and reflect whilst I completed it, helped me to be able to process it further and accept it immensely. Admittedly, this is the second painting I’ve ever done that I’ve cried whilst painting it, the definition of cathartic. I’ve included so many colours to add an air of positivity to it. The background patchwork pattern is my cushion I sit on whilst I paint on the floor, the flowers on the scythe are the flowers from my Grandads funeral, the patterns on the pillow are reminiscent of my friend who passed art style, and the grim reaper still has a heart to show how I believe he has humility in deciding when people should go. I wanted it to also have a sense of comfort.

I look forward to exploring my other concepts after completing this, and I’m glad I’ve found some more closure on these feelings since this completion. It’s like a way to help me physically move on by having this artwork. I will be leaving this concept behind me as I focus on other concepts more familiar to my art as we head into this new year. Take what you would like from this piece! If left alone I could write about my art for a very long time. Especially the use of salt in this piece was so fun, and also protective! Cherish those you love while you can. Having this wrap up an encapsulate my art and experience of 2023 is very appropriate I think.
I hope you’re all well 🫂 I have exciting plans for this year, and I can’t wait to keep creating 🤍

THIS Sunday I am being apart of the biggest market I have ever been apart of! I am also debuting 4 new products only available at this market before anywhere else! I am introducing hand customised framed Prints, and 3 NEW sticker designs (the first new stickers I have made in over a year for those of you who collect my stickers) 1 of my new stickers is not pictured as I need to take a photo of it when it arrives to truly show its glory (hint it's glittery) 🤭💜

If you want to be first in first served for my new products this market is the place to snatch them up before anyone else can! Especially my framed prints bc they are all uniquely 1 of 1 ⭐️ I am also quite nervous for this market aaaa so I hope I see some of my friends there, come say hi!! Also see my brand new stall set up which I will be debuting as well 😎 Major upgrades happening in Butturbum world

I am happy to share that this original painting of mine now with its hand decorated frame by me is available on my website! I am actually shocked no one has grabbed her up yet, being 1 part of a 2 part series with the other artwork being one of my most popular artworks of all time (The first pinned artwork on my page currently). I have had her listed for a while excluding the decorated frame, but now she is the only original of mine available to buy with the beaded matching frame 🍀 I think she is just beautiful and she is ready to be adored in a new home.
I have also had this piece exhibited before where she has been a bit of a fan favourite. I really hope she can go to a perfect new home soon.

My website is butturbum.com the link is in my bio, she is in my originals section. I also do Worldwide shipping ⭐️

My scanned special 10k followers artwork and my follow up artwork after the commission is here for full viewing 🍀 firstly THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR 10k FREAKING FOLLOWERS 😭😭😭😭 I'm still in disbelief, I have a lot planned for this year already so I hope u guys enjoy seeing how I grow and what I'm up to next. All of the support fuels me so much to keep creating and doing what I love. This artwork will always be incredibly special to me knowing its backstory and how it even came to be created, being born from an experience where I dealt with the worst commission I have ever had in my life and hundreds of people were sad that I painted over the first painting I did for the commission - I decided to bring it back but more me and my style than ever and with a whole new lens. It really feels like a timestamp and this painting will hold so many memories for myself for the rest of my life. On top of that it's my favourite original character ever Chi Chi so that also makes me happy whenever I look at it. What an insane journey the lead up to this painting has been, I hope you guys have enjoyed the journey and this painting as well 🤍

Butturbum 2025 recap ⭐️
This year has exceeded what I even thought was possible for me, I did more than I ever thought I could. So I wanted to do a little recap like I've seen some of my friends do to take a moment to reflect on everything I've done this year

⭐️I started my Small business on the 28th of March, setting up a website with the help of my sister @alice.patte and investing money into prints and stickers to start selling to support my ability to create art
⭐️I created an animation for the first time in years !!!! The animation is probably my favourite thing I have created all year, with the music being provided by @lewis.melons
⭐️I had my first exhibition in Brisbane EVER ! At the biggest exhibition ive ever been apart of at @converge.bne , I was apart of a total of 4 exhibitions total this year !!!!
⭐️I had my first Market stall in Brisbane !!! In total I was apart of 6 markets this year !!!!!
⭐️I got commissioned by one of my FAVOURITE music artists of all time to create an EP cover for @mumfighter ❕❕ As well as various tour posters and merchandise for him and his team, then I had the pleasure to give him the original painting in person 🤍
⭐️I created 13 handmade tote bags all by myself out of secondhand materials!!!! They sold out within a month of launching, they are my second favourite thing I have created all year and I'm incredibly proud of myself for trying something so new and learning how to sew again
⭐️I reached over 2.4 million profile views and hit 10k followers right before the year ended. I gained 8.5k followers in a month, thats fucking insane. Thank you so much to all of my new followers for being interested in my art and stories

Finally, one of the biggest achievements I've made this year was setting aside time to keep creating art. I work fewer days at my day job to be able to paint and create, sometimes that means I am left with less money but it could not be more worth it, and it's paid off in the long run of me living a fulfilling life.

I am TRULY and unbelievably grateful for the support. I hope to create even more awesome things next year 💝 Thank you everyone 💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝

I rescanned and reedited this piece from July 2022 and wanted to reshare it in all its glory 🍓 This is a bushstone curlew native to Australia and it's my favourite bird ever. Apart from the physical and lanky look of the bird with their long legs that makes me adore them, they remind me of my childhood insomnia as I would scale how late I had stayed up based from their calls, and they made me feel less alone during the night. Also in Indigenous culture in Australia they can be a symbol of death, due to their calls sounding like wailing and legends of the call being a warning before death. I also find it interesting how I've seen many Curlews hang around cemetery's, I like to think it ties into this belief. At the time of painting this I was in a mental health recovery program that lasted a month long, so not only was I drawing my favourite bird cathartically I liked to think of this bird with all its symbolism included as a sign that I had avoided death, as I was very ill and lost at that time. Paintings like this from this time period make me so grateful for how far I've come and how much has changed, I'm glad I kept going with my art and I didn't give up :D 🤍

Exhibition photo dump :D from the 3 exhibitions I have been apart of over the last few months, in order of viewing:
1. @age.of.emma Polarities exhibition
2. @artshowfactory Alice exhibition
3. @eyefleur Rot exhibition
I can't express how truly FREAKING grateful I am to have been apart of these empowering community driven events, and how lucky I feel to have met SO many inspiring, hard working, intelligent and kind creative people. When I think about all the conversations and experiences being apart of this community has already given me it makes me feel complete. I love my local art community SO much and you all make me feel understood and at home 🫂 if you came to an event THANK YOU !!!
I will not be having any more exhibitions for the rest of the year, so thats a wrap. I had 4 this year in total, and I only started exhibiting in Brisbane this year! Much more to come next year, I'm going to slow down with events for a bit to create some new epic work :3
I do have 2 markets left for this year, one this coming Sunday the 16th that I will post more info about soon 🦭
