One week later and I still can’t get over the experience of screening Mi Tazi to a fully packed cinema. It’s one thing to have a dream; it’s another for someone else to hear that dream and believe in it enough to walk the journey with you.

I remember that Monday morning in June 2025, sitting in an interview with Sophie, not knowing how much that moment would shape what Mi Tazi would become and since then, the film has evolved in ways I could never have imagined. Yet, one of my greatest joys was sitting in the audience, watching the fruit of our labour of love unfold on a big screen.

The private screening was wholesome, affirming, and deeply humbling. To hear feedback from people who met this story for the first time, made every step worthwhile.

This is only the beginning. More screenings coming soon.

Two weeks in and I’m still ecstatic about how my exhibition went. It’s so hard to pick my favorite part; the panel session, people’s reactions to my work, the conversations that followed, or is it the joy on my parents’ faces, or the overwhelming support from family and friends who showed up. Honestly, everything was perfect, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

It’s the final viewing week, you can still drop by at MAD House, Lagoon Front UNILAG @madhousebytikera to experience Resonance curated by Dr. Bolaji Ogunwo

What a journey it has been over the past year. From the initial vision shared by Tamara to the final release of the Hallelujah Challenge Story, it’s been more than just a project—it’s been an experience, one that could only have been possible through God almighty.

From the moment Tamara shared her vision to the final stage of this project, every step of the way has been a testament to teamwork and dedication. Assembling a global team was no small feat, but through unwavering commitment, the team in different cities, countries, and continents made the impossible possible.

It would take a while to tell this whole story but for now, I must say, I’m truly humbled and honored to have been a part of this journey, crafting a narrative that celebrates God’s Grace and the unity of believers worldwide. This project isn’t about us—it’s about His Glory shining through every frame, every voice, every testimony, and every moment.

It’s been a privilege beyond words to tell the story of one of Africa’s biggest non-denominational christian gatherings. Huge thanks to our Executive Producer Nathaniel Bassey @nathanielblow and our visionary Director and my Co- Producer, Tamara @tamaraadeyemi for entrusting me with this monumental task. To God be the glory.

what a week it has been. What a way to begin the month of june. I’m excited to announce that the three-part series is streaming on pastor Nathaniel’s Youtube channel. Join us in experiencing the journey, the inspiration, and the power of the Hallelujah Challenge Story. Watchand be blessed! #AfricaWillFeedTheWorld #HallelujahChallengeDocumentary #HallelujahChallengeStory #Hallelujah

Back in March, during the Women in Arts & Film 2026 convening themed Art as Healing and Social Impact, we had the privilege of supporting a creative project whose vision reminded us why platforms like AAIFF exist in the first place.

The winning pitch stood out for its honesty, emotional depth, and commitment to using storytelling as a tool for healing, awareness, and social impact.

At the All Africans Indie Film Festival (AAIFF), we strongly believe art is not separate from society. Film, storytelling, and creative expression have the power to challenge silence, preserve memory, start difficult conversations, and create pathways for transformation.

Beyond the conversations, panels, and community gathered that day, one of the most meaningful parts of the event was being able to directly support a creative whose work aligned deeply with the spirit of impact-driven storytelling.

We remain proud of what was built during Women in Arts & Film 2026 and even more excited about the journeys that continue long after the event ends.

To our grant recipient, thank you for trusting your story enough to share it.

And to every creative building meaningful work quietly, your voice matters more than you know.

Tomorrow feels deeply personal. Mi Tazi @mitazifilm will screen at the National Commission for Museums and Monuments, Kaduna. If you’re in Kaduna, come experience it with us. The Museum is not just another venue, but as a space that lives within the story itself.

Kaduna is home. It is where my journey began, and where the works of my ancestors still live on, over 2,000 years later. To bring this film back to the museum, surrounded by history, memory, and heritage, feels like a full circle moment.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to share this story in a place that helped shape it.

Hello Creatives,

Its that time of the month for another session of DOCUmentary SCREENing

This time we have to films to SCREEN, which are contributions from our partner @storymiacademy .

it will be a time to Connect. Converse. Learn and Grow together.

Thursday May 28th 2026 by 3.00pm at TTS , #30, 19th Street, BDPA, Ugbowo. Benin City.

1. DerbyQuick - Black Queen Rising
a film by @chriswonderart that tells the story of a 13 year-old Nigerian chess prodigy Deborah Quickpen, who battles opponents twice her age to reclaim her Nigerian National title, while balancing school and her dream.

She fights to become the world’s first Black Female Grandmaster against all odds.

2. Mi Tazi - A journey to my Ancestors a film by @bulus_blessing a young filmmaker, who traveled from Lagos to her ancestral village in Southern Kaduna - Nok, alongside her 72-year-old grandfather.

On the surface of this story, is a road trip, but beneath it, it is a journey into memory, silence, and belonging.

What begins as a search for history slowly becomes something more intimate. Since her father’s death, silence had shaped her family, and she had unanswered questions about identity and heritage.

Mi Tazi means I Remember you, and in making this film, she found herself remembering not just history, but her ancestors too.

See you there! Do not miss this session.

We look forward to welcoming you.

It’s been several weeks since traveling from Lagos to Nok & Kuryas in Kaduna, to Abuja at @ifnigeria and back to Lagos @af.lagos for the screening of @mitazifilm and I’m still wrapped in the love that fills me. It makes me remember the profound ending monologue from Akeelah and the Bee that says

“You know that feeling where everything feels right, where you don’t have to worry about tomorrow, or yesterday, but you feel safe and know you’re doing the best you can? There’s a word for that feeling. It’s called love.”

That’s what April felt like for me.

Mi Tazi screened in Nok, my ancestral hometown, then in my village on the exact day my father’s death marked 15 years, and again in Abuja on the anniversary of his burial. On the 18th of April, the film screened in Lagos surrounded by friends and family who knew my father when he was alive, and people who have held and supported me through the years since losing him.

The April screenings became more than just screening a film to an audience. It felt like memory, grief, healing, home, faith, and love all existing in the same space at once. Something I still can’t fully articulate, but I know I felt love.

My deepest gratitude to the entire team of StoryMi Academy@storymiacademy the French Embassy @franceinnigeria and the French Institut @ifnigeria for this incredible experience. Thank you 🌼🌼🌼

A great time was had last night at the 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards 2026.

Congratulations to all the winners and nominees.

Grateful to have been part of Aljana, a film by@graceyakubu_ which received 3 nominations. Even without a win, being recognized on such a stage is still special. Here’s to more stories, more growth, more work ahead. #AMVCA12

Life is so interesting. Ten years ago, around March, in the days leading up to my late father’s 5th anniversary, I found myself thinking a lot about him. I was overwhelmed with sadness and anger that I didn’t have a photograph with him so, I created this image of myself standing across from his photograph hanging on the wall.

A decade later, I made a film, Mi Tazi about that same fear of forgetting him, using it as a way to reconnect with him.

On the 6th of April, 2026, it marked 15 years since he passed. I’m deeply and honestly grateful to God for His grace and mercy over my life and my family. There’s no way we would have made it through without Him.

To everyone experiencing grief in any form, may God comfort you in the way only He can, because He truly knows what’s best. #MiTazi #Photograph #DaddysGirlForever #Memories #LoveAndFamily

Some moments feel bigger than any post you could make. It’s been over a week since Aljana received 3 nominations at the 12th AMVCA, and I’ve been taking my time to truly process what this means 🥳🥳🥳

Some films take time. Aljana took 4 to 5 years to become tangible. Years of believing, pushing, and refusing to let go.

Being part of this journey as Associate Producer has been one of the most defining experiences for me, watching a story grow from a short film into a feature, stretch, and finally find its place in the world. Wow. Just wow.

Today, Aljana is nominated in 3 categories at the AMVCA for Best Indigenous Language (West Africa), Best Supporting Actress, and Best Art Direction, and that, in itself, is a win 👌👌👌

I am especially proud of Grace Yakubu @graceyakubu_ , her vision, courage, and commitment to telling stories that truly matter. Aljana is more than a film. It speaks to real issues, real people, real experiences.

Congratulations to all the cast and crew for believing in this story and bringing in their A game, and congratulations to all the nominees.

I truly can’t wait for you to experience the world of Aljana but before then, let’s bring this award home.

If you believe in real human stories, please support us. Vote. Share. Be part of this moment. Voting link is in my bio. Let’s bring it home.

Thank you to @africamagic for creating such a platform where stories and storytellers are seen, heard and celebrated. #12thamvca #ALJANA #IndegenousStorytelling #AssociateProducer #AfricanCinema
