I definitely wasn’t ready to leave NYC, but I sure did have a good time! Heart and belly FULL ✨

I deleted all the pictures off my phone a couple of days ago…some of it was saved on icloud, alot of it wasn’t and alot of it was memes and funny videos I’d hoarded over the past couple of years. Deffo gonna re-fill it with butt hole pics, my own of course.Wrote something just now. When I say eyes closed, I mean not focusing on things not concerning you.

If I could
Each morning I would
Reach into you
Take a handful of your buttered loving
Rub you into my palms
Then smooth you over me
So I’m left feeling safe
For the rest of the day

Honouring my mother today and also all the people who aren’t my biological mother who have mothered (loved, taught and taken care of) me at various points in my life, and every other person doing care work in whatever form. Big up my sister (mi chargie) and aunts, friends, elders and ancestors. Big up mothers who are non-binary. Big up mothers who aren’t cis women. Big up trans mothers. Big up the teachers in a failing system who still care. Big up youth councillors. Big up black queer feminist. Big up carers, nurses and doctors. Big up future lovers and also big up to me and yourself for (sporadically but still) mothering their inner child. Big up mothers forced into motherhood due to anti-abortion laws, r***, trafficking or societal pressure. Big up mothers holding onto their autonomy & resisting patriarchy. Big up all the hustling mothers unsupported by the state. Big up the tired mothers who want a break from mothering. Big up the mothers with mental health complications. Massive big for all those who have lost a mother or had a terrible relationship with theirs and are mourning that relationship, and all those who had to learn to mother themselves in childhood due to lovelessness. (I’m using ‘big up’ as a term of endearment, acknowledgment and holding).
As well as being a word to describe a person in relation to their children, I see the word ‘Mother’ as an act of care and nurturing done onto another. So yeah, my take on it.
I would suggest everyone read ‘all about love’ by Bell Hooks but I myself am struggling to get through it ngl the way my edges are being DRAGGED.
