Since I got this cnc I’ve been trying to figure out what type of dust shoe was right for me. After a couple iterations I ended up with this. The aluminum arm rides on a V track extrusion bolted onto the stationary part of the z axis. The smaller aluminum part was added to improve rigidity and make adjustments in the x direction. I was going to add short brush along the bottom but it seems to suck up just fine without it. The shoe itself is attached with magnets to the arm.
Many thanks to @ssp_fabrication for the 3d printing.

A backyard play structure for @couldbearchitecture. This was a fun build.
Started cutting the joinery by hand but then put a couple vises on the cnc to make that process a little easier.
Keep an eye on @couldbearchitecture ‘s page as I bet they’ll have some pretty pictures of it soon.

Also a part of the People’s Budgeting Workshop for #chicagounitedforequity and @paolaaguirreserrano are these 20 Nickel Benches. A take on Penny Budgeting activities where each item represents a fraction of a budget one is allocating. During the workshop, in addition to providing seating for conversation, they are designed to be used as tools in expressing budget priorities: stacked in different areas to show community priorities (eg. housing and health over policing).
The stools nest into each other for easy transport but if rotated 90 degrees can also stack higher and showcase priorities in the workshop.
Like the signage posted earlier, these stools are also designed by Building Brown Workshop.
Thanks to @paolaaguirreserrano and @borderless_studio for bringing us into this project. Thanks to Craig for the finishing.

Very proud of this recent pop up signage we did for @paolaaguirreserrano and #chicagounitedforequity. It will be used as part of a mobile workshop series that invites communities to have a say in the budget priorities of #chicago.
The pyramidal sign board was made out of steel composite panels so as to be light, durable, compact, and magnetic. The base of it was modified from an off the shelf @bora_tool workbench to have three legs.
This build, unlike some of our other fabrication work, was also *designed* by Building Brown Workshop to meet the specific needs of this mobile workshop.
