Link in bio.
Let’s show what purple power looks like in action.
💜 Fighting!
Beat the Streets Baltimore is raising funds the Kenya Cultural Exchange and Sports Diplomacy Summer Program. The program takes urban youth from Baltimore City, MD to Kenya, Africa and Cairo, Egypt for a fast-paced, short-term sports cultural exchange. During the program, they engage with Kenyan peers and wrestlers at the United States University of Africa (USIU), participate in wrestling camps/clinics, sessions on leadership, team-building and conflict resolution, as well as on inclusion and equity in sport.
The program will cultivate youth leaders who will return to their communities with a global perspective and an increased ability to tackle tough challenges. The program will also help to empower Kenyans with the resources and equipment to create interscholastic programs in local schools. Our program will show young people how participation in athletics can empower and translate into achievements in the classroom and life.

We are still processing this.
A global fan community from all over the world found Beat the Streets Baltimore and decided to support our kids and together we just crossed $10,000 raised.
What started as conversations, messages, reposts, encouragement, and people believing in what we do turned into something real for Baltimore youth.
To the BTS ARMY: thank you for seeing us, trusting us, and for putting your energy behind young people in this city.
You have pushed this initiative tirelessly, kept the momentum going, encouraged our small team, and truly helped drive this forward every single day. Your belief in this project has meant more than you probably realize.
Different backgrounds.
Different countries.
Different cultures.
All coming together to support kids in Baltimore through academics, wrestling, mentoring, transportation, and opportunity.
We’re only at the beginning.
$10,000 is a major milestone, but now we push toward $37,000 to fund a full wrestling and academic season for our youth. Our moonshot goal is $600,000 which would cover a permanent academic and training facility for Baltimore’s youth.

REST IN POWER, Coach Dwight Warren.
Coach Warren passed away after a short illness at 77 years old. But make no mistake, he lived every single one of those years with purpose.
For over 50 years, Coach Warren ran McKim Youth Center in East Baltimore. He didn’t just coach wrestling. He walked into the toughest projects near Dunbar High School with an assignment. He found the toughest kids under tough circumstances, gave them an assignment, and built champions out of them.
McKim was known for being gritty, physical, and disciplined. They were a problem. And that was by design.
He went on to coach at Mergenthaler High School and was still on the mat at Forest Park and officiating local tournaments this year at 77. That’s not a coach. That’s a calling by his higher power.
Coach Warren is an inductee of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. Without him, there is no wrestling history in Baltimore. Period.
Beyond the mat, he was a mentor and a man you could go to when life got heavy.
In 2014, Beat the Streets Baltimore named our Most Outstanding Wrestler Award after him because we knew then what Baltimore is feeling right now.BTS is not separate from his legacy. We are an extension of it.
Our hearts go out to his family, his former wrestlers, and everyone whose life he quietly shaped. The city of Baltimore lost a giant this weekend. Coach Warren, thank you for everything. You will never be forgotten. 🖤🕊️

Good matches today between Waverly and Cherry Hill. Kids came ready, competed hard, and you can really see the growth starting to show.
Shout out to Coach Morey and Coach Carrett. Y’all show up every day and really pour into our youth. That consistency doesn’t go unnoticed.
They are better because you are in their corner as a coach. We are building something special.
Big moment for Morgan State Wrestling and HBCU Wrestling.
For the first time in over 30 years, Morgan State University has two wrestlers qualified for the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships.
Huge credit to Coach @boo.monday and his staff for continuing to rebuild the program and putting Morgan back on the national stage.
Eugene Harney (149 lbs) @genowxrld
Yannis Charles (157 lbs) @yrn.yannis
Both will represent @morganstateu State and the @hbcuwrestling wrestling community at the NCAA Championships in Cleveland, Ohio.
It’s a major step forward for #HBCUWrestling and for young athletes who want to see themselves competing at the highest level.
Baltimore is proud.
The HBCU wrestling community is watching.
Wishing Eugene and Yannis the best of luck in Cleveland.
Let’s go Bears.
