For Christmas Alex commissioned our friend Ricardo RodArterdo Marquez of the RodArte Galleries to create a portrait of “Maria Magdalena Devalos de Brocamontes y Orozco, La Tercera Condesa de Miravalle.” I absolutely love it.We live in the “Condesa” distrito of Mexico City that is named after the subject of the portrait. Planning a formal unveiling next month for my fellow “Citizen Liason Volunteers” from the American Embassy.Feliz Navidad.

For our second party, Alex and I had the absolute privilege of attending a private concert given by Mexico’s premier Contratenor, Sr. Gamaliel Reynoso, a finalist in the Metropolitan Operas competition for Latin America. Bravo!!!

Just finished—brilliant and intriguing. The author Joyce Carol Oates was the guest of honor at The Luncheon Society to which I belong, shortly after the release of the book. Highly recommended.
