We’re excited to partner with @portlandstate to lead conceptual design for a new performing arts + cultural center! Our design is one of three options being considered by the City of Portland. 

“There is nothing more inspiring than working with a great partner to envision a project that will be truly transformational for downtown Portland. This is a chance to create a visionary artistic and community resource to serve our city for the next 100 years,” said Bora Principal Michael Tingley. 

The proposed multi-use arts and culture complex on PSU’s University Place Hotel site will feature a 3,000-seat auditorium, a second 1,200-seat performance venue, a hotel, and community and educational space—a bold effort elevating the arts and catalyzing development within the downtown core.

Join us on a journey through the future University of Florida School of Music located in the heart of campus! The contemporary addition will wrap the original 1971 facility’s south and east edges with new state-of-the-art teaching studios, an exquisite glass-walled entry, and a dramatic 500-seat performance hall. As a world-class destination for music teaching and education, the project will provide the school and community with technology-rich and acoustically superior spaces for practice, performance, and learning.

We can’t wait to make this a daily reality for UF! Design is well underway, with the project slated for groundbreaking next summer.

Community has always been a core value of ours, even from our earliest days. When we built this beach house for our staff in 1995, we dreamed of it as a shared resource for all employees, no matter their seniority. Through the years the Bora Beach House has welcomed personal retreats, babymoons, family getaways, celebrations of life; it holds memories of babies’ first steps, festive meals, milestone birthdays, special anniversaries. Like a true family home, it has held the bounty of life within its walls and has become a sacred part of not just the Bora community, but the friends, partners and colleagues who have joined us along the way. Together in this beauty of place we have found, and keep finding, shared community in a shared space. As we kick off a new year, our hope is that in all the spaces we create, there is always a place for community.

Shaped by extensive dialogue with BIPOC and Indigenous students, the Portland State University Vernier Science Center renovation reimagined STEM education as a place inclusive of culture, traditions and the land. Our thoughtful design interventions create a healthy science environment beautifully integrated with the landscape of the Pacific Northwest, “greening” the Brutalist building around the base to soften its edges while immersing occupants in nature and views at every turn.
