BODYDOXY invites @e.l.bango for an installation showcasing their short film “BALLROOM SEEN”, a documentary that follows the Portuguese ballroom community and gives us a close and personal look into the crucial and safe space it creates for the queer community.

Musically, our bodies gather and dance to the sound of @perolidade , @dontcallmetako and @e.l.bango

Ballroom is not only SEEN, but also HEARD, with @_mariofilipe who will bring the energy and give us a look into the artistry of MC’ing.

Violet moves as a multi-faceted force within the electronic music landscape, contributing to her local scene from various angles.
As co-founder of online radio station Rádio Quântica, dedicated to broadcasting some of the most refreshing and exciting artists in Lisbon and also as a co-founder of the venue Planeta Manas.
She’s no stranger to a party, if you are one of the lucky people who got to experience the utopia that was Planeta Manas, there’s a high chance you’ve danced to one of her sets as a resident of the beloved Mina, a queer rave that has set the standard for the club scene in Lisbon.
All the enviornments she’s nursed maintain this conversation between dance music and political movements, one that’s dynamic and essential like a flower that can’t help but sprout in the middle of rubble.
Saturday we celebrate her and the walls she tears down and the flourishing that has come out of these truly marking projects at BODYDOXY#2.

Violet move-se como uma força multifacetada no panorama da música eletrônica, contribuindo para a cena local de inúmeras maneiras.
Como co-fundadora da rádio online Rádio Quântica que se dedica a divulgar alguns dos artistas mais entusiasmantes de Lisboa e também como co-fundadora do Planeta Manas.
Não é estranha à pista de dança, se tiveste o prazer de experienciar a utopia que era o Planeta Manas, é muito provável que já tenhas dançado ao som de um dos seus sets na sua residência na Mina, uma rave queer que se tornou referência na cena clubbing em Lisboa.
Todos os ambientes que nutre mantêm viva uma conversa entre a música e movimentos políticos dinâmica e essencial, como uma flor que insiste em nascer no meio do pavimento.
Este sábado celebramos Violet e as paredes que derruba, e o florescimento que resultou destes projetos verdadeiramente marcantes na BODYDOXY #2.

GABBY DA GLOCK

Gabby da Glock needs no introduction.
Seven years ago she crossed the sea from Goiânia to Portugal and, since then, has played a fundamental role in strengthening and supporting the queer community in Portugal.
The mother of Casa T, the first housing shelter dedicated to trans immigrant people in Portugal, devotes her life to creating not only a safe space but also to giving hope and dignity to those who need it most.
Her impact also extends to her role within the GAT Intendente team, an organization that provides health and well-being to the queer community and sex workers.
Her presence is a pillar of Lisbon’s nightlife, where she works to make the city’s best parties more inclusive and safer, as a manager of Outra Cena.
This Saturday at BODYDOXY#2, we give her her well-deserved flowers and bring our bodies and attention together to give back and celebrate the mark she leaves on all of us.

Gabby da Glock não precisa de introdução.
Há sete anos vem de Goiânia para Portugal e, desde então, tem desempenhado um papel fundamental no fortalecimento e apoio à comunidade queer em Portugal.
A mãe da Casa T, primeira casa de acolhimento voltada para pessoas trans imigrantes em Portugal, dedica a sua vida a criar não só um lugar seguro, mas também a dar esperança e dignidade a quem mais precisa.
O seu impacto estende-se também à integração da equipa do GAT Intendente, instituição que fornece saúde e bem-estar à comunidade queer e a trabalhadores do sexo.
A sua presença é um pilar nas noites lisboetas, onde se dedica a tornar as melhores festas da cidade mais inclusivas e seguras, como gerente da Outra Cena.

A teacher, a student, a daughter, a mother in the making.
Jade Aura’s work flows from paintings to performance, from fashion to sculpture and tattooing, playing with tension between concrete and abstract, trauma and cure, physical and spiritual.
Her voice in the countless panels she’s a part of around Europe as a co-author of the Adenda dos Jovens à Carta de Porto Santo, breaks walls and reinforces the power of giving the youth a platform to rethink and restructure the access and workplace conditions in the art world. The work of a MOTHER!
Jade will guide us through a night of surprises, personifying her work like never before.
Her artistry will be the magnifying glass on this night of celebration of the women giving wings to the community.
