Cannot wait to return to my home-ish town. This book is PNW through and through, from the Salmon swimming upstream to spawn and die to my childhood dreaming of being a mother in the woods somewhere between Seattle and Canada.

I can't wait to talk to Mattilda, one of my dearest favoritest writers about queer family, about generation, about life.

This book is so special to me, but it took a community to write. Everyone has a relationship to having, and not-having, kids; one that is sometimes on the background, sometimes agonizingly impossibly everything that matters in life.

It seems impossible that The Boston Globe would call me a “writer of [my] generation” but it is true. I’m so glad they said *a* writer because my generation includes so many of us queering science. We are our generation.
