Black Cat was founded in 2020 in South Florida, a full service sound reinforcement and production company now based right here in the mountains. We provide turnkey production packages for events of all sizes from intimate DJ nights to outdoor festivals.

The heart of our system is a hand built, one of a kind rig crafted by Jungle Skankin (Long Island, NY), powered by NST processing for clean, accurate, and powerful sound.

Owned and operated by myself (graphyte), with over 5 years of experience working with Funktion One systems across Miami’s top venues and festivals including Okeechobee Music Festival, Dirtybird Camp Inn, Burning Man, iii Points, Hocus Pocus and more.

Through Black Cat, I offer a range of audio and production services including:
-Sound reinforcement & event audio
-Audio engineering
-Stage & production management
-Event lighting & installation

Super excited to announce Break Beat Sessions at @eulogyavl on May 2nd. A night of exploring old-school to nu-jungle with a little flavor in between. @hivi_soundsystem and @blackcatsoundsystem will be bringing out the mega block 🔊

TIME:
- doors 7:30
- show 8-12pm

The night kicks off with a local legend, Gregory Evergreen, a junglist who has been part of the scene since the 90s. Gregory has a massive vinyl collection and will showcase his talents as a vinyl DJ, taking us through a selection of hidden gems.

Next up is @jjjjjjjjgjgjgjgjgj , a junglist from Nashville, Tennessee. Ontology is a highly talented producer who has been putting US jungle on the map. She has DJ’d several times across the pond in Europe. Ontology has released music with Future Retro, and worked alongside Tim Reaper and Dwarde. They will be putting together a hardcore jungle set.

@m27underground follows, coming all the way from Oakland, California for his US tour. M27 is bringing a fresh twist to jungle by fusing it with nu-metal, taking us on a musical journey through multiple genres with a vinyl set. Not only is M27 a very talented producer and DJ, but he is also a skilled artist. He is the art director and one of the selectors for one of the coolest US collectives, @fatcapsound

Last but not least, we have @graphyte_ , the head honcho of @blackcatsoundsystem . Not only will he be providing sound, but he will also be playing an eclectic set, taking us on a journey from old-school to nu-jungle an a little in between. Originally from Miami, Florida, Graphyte has recently rooted himself in Asheville, where he provides sound for many local events with Black Cat Sound System.

Sound System Culture is a DIY grassroots movement made for the community, built by the community. From the roots starting in Kingston, Jamaica to growing out to the UK, US, and eventually world wide. The culture has played a huge role in building the foundation for many genres and other grassroot movements like Pirate Radio.
Without Sound System Culture we wouldnt have dub, reggae, dance hall, ska, rock steady, hiphop, jungle, drum and bass, UK garage, dubstep and many other sub genres that have been inspired by Sound System Culture. Its an endless rabbit hole of information, history, people and communities involved. The rabbit hole continues to expand with new sound system crews popping up world wide.
