In one of our last masterclasses this semester, we sent @phoebejunemusic to take part in an interactive SOMA workshop 🎶

@somasynths are easily one of the most unique names in music production. In this session, lecturer Tim Kroker explored the ideas behind SOMAs weird and wonderful synthesizers, demonstrating how these tools can open up new opportunities for sound design and performance.

🎶 This week, musician and activist Madame Gandhi visited BIMM Berlin to deliver exclusive mentoring sessions to our lucky students.

🏆 An award-winning artist, producer, and activist, she is known for her percussive electronic music and powerful message of personal agency. A former drummer for M.I.A., she has been recognized as a TED Fellow, Forbes 30 Under 30 in Music, and BBC 100 Women, and uses her work to champion gender equity, sustainability, and creative independence.

‘It’s those who break the rules, see things differently, and trust their instinct that are the radical change makers that create sustainability and growth for our industry.”

We can’t wait to have @madamegandhi back in the near future!

🎶 Every year since 2004, the C/O Pop Festival has transformed Cologne into an urban pop culture epicenter.

BIMM University Berlin’s Creative Futures team sent 10 students to volunteer at the event, providing them with valuable hand-on events experience in backstage setup, crowd engagement, and information point management.

The chance to connect with professionals and colleagues across different areas of the music industry, exchanging ideas, and exploring current developments in a dynamic setting was a main highlight for our participants.
