If you’re looking for abundance as an actor, you already have everything you need to create it.

This Industry will hand you a thousand ways to measure yourself: callbacks, credits, reviews, numbers, followers. Who’s booking, who’s winning, who’s buzzing.

And before you know it, you start believing there’s not enough to go around. Not enough roles, not enough recognition, not enough space for you.

And when you’re working from a place of scarcity, everything becomes about proving, achieving, getting picked… and the success you’re chasing never comes. (Or even if you do have success, it feels empty.)

But you didn’t get into this for the accolades or the red carpets. Although sure, accolades are great! And you were never meant to work from a place of fear, comparison, and the constant feeling that you have to prove your worth.

It’s time to return to your calling, your need to express, uncover, feel, imagine, play, reveal… Because that’s where true abundance is. That’s what feels amazing. Abundance is creating. Creating is abundance.

And when you dive back into the work…
- Return to that scene that cracks you open…?
- Spend time with a character that shows you something true about being human…?
- Connect with another human who makes you feel deeply alive, on the magic carpet ride of acting…?

…abundance springs from there.

Let’s keep coming back to: simplicity, specificity, personal investment, emotional connection, letting go of playing an idea or something planned and controlled. Let’s instead have an intimate, truthful, specific conversation in the scene. In real time. Wholly invested- from your own specific and, yes… personal experience and point of view. Trust your impulse and what you know to be true, and express your unique, authentic voice in the world of the play and the character’s circumstances.

Know what you must get, what you care about in the story... deeply... even in… especially in… a comedy or a procedural. Open the crucible of vulnerability, and from there... take action. So you can reach to another human being, another character, with that? Know what you want from that specific relationship. Fight for something... there is always something specific to fight for.

Sometimes these practices get lost. Let’s keep coming back to them to bring us back to it really counts, what really grounds every single audition. Let’s remember this work and work on this work.
