Berlin Science Week
1—10 NOVEMBER 2026
Berlin’s annual science & culture festival with hundreds of free events across the city.
Berlin Science Week 2026 is already starting to take shape and we’re looking back at one of last year’s key collaborations.
Together with our Festival Partners @asu_decisiontheater @asu_globalfutures
and Max Planck Institute for Geoanthropology, we co-hosted the Decision Theater Ideathon: a two-day co-creative laboratory exploring the future of collective decision-making.
Bringing together around 50 participants from science, technology, the arts, public administration, and civil society, the Ideathon invited interdisciplinary teams to develop new ideas for how immersive and participatory decision-making tools could evolve in Germany and beyond.
The partnership enabled our partners to bring their research and immersive decision-making environment into direct dialogue with the Berlin Science Week audiences, allowing them to test new participatory formats, gather fresh perspectives, and connect with potential collaborators across disciplines and fields.
Want to become a partner at Berlin Science Week 2026? Our Call for Participation is open until this Sunday!

🎉 Our Community Day at Haus der Kulturen der Welt was fully booked!
Yesterday, we welcomed the Berlin Science Week community to our future Festival Centre — and what a lovely afternoon it was. All tickets were gone, the room was full, and we welcomed 100 new and existing partners, researchers and art science practitioners for an inspiring afternoon together. 💛
We loved seeing so many familiar and new faces come together to exchange ideas, spark conversations, and help shape the future of Berlin Science Week 2026.
We’re deeply grateful to @hkw_berlin for welcoming us into their inspiring space and for the warm support from their fantastic team throughout the day. ✨
The energy in the room made one thing very clear: there is strong enthusiasm for exchange, collaboration, and new ways of bringing science into dialogue with society.
We’re excited for what’s ahead. ✨

We’re excited to share our 2026 Festival Theme: In Touch!
Science is not distant, exclusive, or closed off. It is a collective adventure—the deeply human pursuit of knowledge. With this year’s festival theme, In Touch, Berlin Science Week 2026 focuses on the personal side of science: how research touches and improves our lives, affects the people behind it, and connects us with one another.
The 2026 programme highlights the people, institutions, and stories behind the scientific breakthroughs, exploring what happens when science is in touch, when it loses touch, and how it connects us all. Partners are invited to share their research and the stories behind it, engaging the public and demonstrating the real-world impact of their work.
Want to become part of our 2026 programme?

Scientific breakthroughs shape our lives and lay the foundation for tackling the greatest challenges of our time.
Yet, for many not directly involved in it, science feels distant.
We believe science can only fulfil its potential when it is embraced as a vital part of everyday life. At Berlin Science Week, our mission is to strengthen the role of science in building a more resilient society. By placing cutting-edge research at the heart of cultural life, we make science understandable, approachable, and accessible to those it is meant to empower.
We can’t wait to bring science back into the city this 1–10 November!
