Happy release day to @delving_music !

It was a pleasure working on the artwork for this one.

I am truly greatful for the possibility to work with people I admire yet again.

Stay safe and listen to this record. It's a great piece of music with each track drawing you into another beautiful realm of layered melodies and forward driven rhythms.

If you can buy this record, you won't regret it.

Abstrakte Kollaborative Wandmalerei – Workshop Mit @benjaminbutter_

[:de]

I lost interest in making "classic" graffiti when I understood the "mechanics" of stylewriting. If you want to achieve that certain look, there is mostly just one way to get there.

Following the well known path of sketching, first lines, fill-in, background, outlines, and highlights etc. left less and less room for innovation and fun in my perception of painting.

The hidden and obvious rules of how to bend your combination of letters, or better, their shapes, are mostly bound to typography norms of space and composition if you want to achieve readability.

There always has been a form of wildstyle in modern graffiti that included a type of "non readability". My idea of moving one step further from this, is creating something that looks more like the memory of graffiti.

The appearance is purposefully distorted. Letters overlap, and there is no deeper sense to make of it than the pure experience of watching it. Just like when you have no idea that these shapes you are looking at represent letters.

For me, this is an opportunity to bring back some of the myth and the riddles or the childlike interest I had when I started painting graffiti more than 20 years ago.

Even better to paint a collaboration with another great artist like @coolace_bnc_com

Bigup to @spike_dresden / @hoc_houseofcolors for the organisation of this event!
