With that move, the Thursday/Friday Overnight show (1am-5am Fridays) will be taken over by @prometheusbrown, who has been serving as a fill-in DJ for the past two years on Variety Mix shows, Eastern Echoes, Street Sounds, and more.

We'd like to thank Michele Myers for her many years of making us dance on KEXP, most recently holding down the Tuesday Late Night show. She's moving on to focus on live DJing and we wish her all the best. We'll miss you, @djmichelemyers!

I’m very excited to announce my 30th birthday show at The Sunset presented by KEXP with a bunch of friends to help celebrate! Spirit Award, mega cat, and Mikey Moo will be performing, Troy Nelson will be hosting, and Negronis will be flowing. Clear your calendars for Saturday, March 8th at 9pm and come hang with us! Also, a huge shoutout to the wonderful Jeff Kleinsmith for designing the poster. Everybody’s two favorite mustaches

Nerd alert! I started playing Mario Kart with these folks at the beginning of the pandemic, back when we thought we’d have a few weeks of lockdown, and then we could hang out in person. I spent hundreds of hours with these folks on zoom, most of whom I had never met in real life. Every Sunday night @troynelllson and I would play Mario Kart in our basement with 10 other folks on zoom. After over a year of weekly zoom calls we slowly moved to in person hangs. We all got a lot busier once the world opened back up, but we still make time every couple of months to get together, eat pizza, yell at each other, and play Mario Kart. Quick shoutout to Adam and Christina for hosting and building an insane LAN rig with monitors and docks for everyone. Oh! And we were missing @holly_nadine for the night, but our ears are the better for it.

That time we took the train from Kyoto to Osaka to see the Hanshin Tigers. A nice man wearing all Tigers gear helped us find the right train to Koshien Stadium, we got to the park and the game was sold out. After wandering around for a bit we were approached by another man to buy scalped tickets, did a shady deal in a stairway of a department store, and got in. We soon realized our 4 tickets were in 3 different locations. After finally figuring out the confusing numbering system we found two of the seats, unfortunately we still didn’t know where the other seats were. A very kind family noticed our confusion and told us to sit with them, they had extra seats that were unused. We chatted with them with a sizable language barrier and they gave us snacks they brought, extra plastic bats to cheer with, and taught us all the cheers for the different players. This was easily one of my favorite nights in Japan.
