So when he told me about the non-profit he founded (@aloofoundation), I wasn’t surprised - cos great people, just do great things. Aloo Foundation focuses on education advocacy, clean water and conservation for the rural community in Mtwapa, Kenya. Located a few miles from Mombasa along the coast of the Indian Ocean. The foundation’s tailoring program gives 15 scholarships a year to women in the local village and provides them with the tools, business development skills and training to launch their own successful tailoring and dressmaking business over a year long course. Additionally, their Aloo H20 Kiosk, provides clean and reliable water to over 1000 members in the village of Mtwapa. And their conservation program teaches community members how to regrow, rebuild and protect the 22 acre mangrove forest surrounding the village. With a reforestation of over 70k mangrove seedlings this past year.
