Earlier this week, we shared the news that we are stepping off the international music stage after more than 30 incredible years. But while that chapter is closing, our story is far from over. Our creative, colorful, and vibrant universe is set to live on in a brand-new format.

In 2028, the spectacular new production AQUA THE MUSICAL will premiere at the Royal Danish Opera House in Copenhagen, before making waves on stages around the world.

At its core, AQUA has always been about celebrating diversity and having the courage to be yourself - we value bringing people closer together. We are so proud that this exact spirit will be the heartbeat of the musical, welcoming both our amazing fans and theatre lovers worldwide into the world of our music.

A wonderful team is pouring their hearts into bringing this universe to life in a new way, and we cannot wait to share 2028 with all of you.

Efter mange fantastiske år har vi besluttet at afslutte kapitel med AQUA som liveband.

AQUA har været en kæmpe del af vores liv, og sammen har vi fået lov til at opleve mere, end vi nogensinde turde drømme om.

Vi har rejst verden rundt mange gange, mødt utallige skønne mennesker, sunget med millioner af jer og delt minder, som vi kommer til at bære med os for altid.
Når man har været sammen så længe, ved man også, hvornår det er tid til at passe på det, man har skabt sammen. For os føles det rigtigt at stoppe her, mens minderne står stærkt, og mens kærligheden til musikken, historien og til hinanden stadig er intakt.

Fra bunden af vores hjerter: tak til alle jer, der har været med på rejsen gennem de sidste 30 år. Tak for kærligheden, energien, støtten og alle de øjeblikke, vi har delt sammen.

Vi sender kun kærlighed og taknemmelighed videre herfra.

Dear everyone ❤️

After many incredible years, we have decided to close the chapter of AQUA as a live band.

AQUA has been such a huge part of our lives, and together we’ve had the chance to experience more than we ever dared to dream of.

We’ve traveled the world countless times, met so many wonderful people, sung together with millions of you, and shared memories that we will carry with us forever.

When you’ve been together for this long, you also learn when it’s time to protect what you’ve created together. For us, this feels like the right moment to say goodbye, while the memories are still strong, and while the love for the music, the story, and each other remains intact.

From the bottom of our hearts: thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey over the past 30 years. Thank you for the love, the energy, the support, and for all the moments we’ve shared together.

Nothing but love and gratitude from here on.

”Hiya, Barbie!” 👋 For tredje år i streg er Aqua på toppen af Kodas internationale hitliste over de mest indtjenende sange i 2025 med ’Barbie Girl’. Stort tillykke til Aqua og hele holdet bag 💖

For andet år i streg ligger Aqua også som nr. 2 på Kodas internationale hitliste med nummeret ’Barbie World’ sammen med Ice Spice og Nicki Minaj.

En stor bedrift af bandet, der udtaler:

We are very excited to announce that for the first time ever, our music will be be transformed into an original musical:

AQUA THE MUSICAL 💗

We’ve had a wild ride, full of experiences that have never been told before. Now, we’re incredibly excited to relive them as a musical, together with the rest of the world. We’re certain it will be both fun and moving, and at the same time a reminder of everything we’ve been through and how privileged we’ve been. If the team manage to capture just a fraction of what it felt like, we can promise it will be entertaining ✨

The show is produced by the Danish production company @AHA Creations and the world premiere will take place in Copenhagen in 2028.
