And now for something a bit different... New Single 'Retrospective' - my usual atmospheric ambient flavour, but with glitchy downtempo beats and layered acid synth sequencers. There are nods to earlier Café del Mar works with psybient sort of touches. The artwork is taken from when I was at a Christian Löffler gig & immersive visual lightshow. I had lost my glasses, and the photo captured the euphoric blur I could see 🤓

Stunning ambient vocals meet soothing ambient soundscapes, combining the musical worlds of British-based Applefish (Nik Davies) and Dutch artist Líom (Anouk Hendriks).

The seed for ‘traces of tomorrow’ was planted by Anouk, who captured the first ideas in voice and synth textures. In the spirit of gentle voices, this collaboration was about deep listening and mutual trust. There’s a sense of spaciousness in the piece, but also intimacy: layered harmonies, reverberant guitar, and soft atmospheres that carry both the artists’ fingerprints.

Released as part of gentle voices, vol. 1 - a collaborative project that brings together 20 different women artists and producers from around the world, who are creating music in ambient (and ambient adjacent) spaces, in celebration of International Women’s Day on Sunday March 8.
