Week 18: More electrical work… (and some plumbing). Patience is key at this stage of the game because we don’t want to overlook the little things. A lot goes into the “guts” of a building and ensuring we have the correct amp/connections to all the future appliances is very important. Week 17: continued work on electrical. Lots going on for electrical infrastructure and upgrades. The store originally had many unsafe electrical fixtures and we are starting over to ensure everything is done properly and up to code. Week 16: Electrical Rough in has started!!! We have had a few delays but excited to get this next phase of work completed. Then we can schedule inspections, get insulation and drywall scheduled. Oh this next phase will be fun!!! Stay tuned. #antelope #oregon #adventure #cafe #love

In honor of International Dark Sky week the “soft opening” of the Dark Sky Resource Library is now open. We are still working on a few things, and the smart telescope we had planned to stream on a live screen is delayed shipping, but it will be up and running soon. New Five Star Route: Shaniko. 39 miles and 2,900 feet of climbing. Roll out of Shaniko and straight into Oregon’s high desert magic—where big skies, quiet roads, and wide-open ranch country set the tone. This route blends smooth pavement with stretches of quality gravel as it drops into the hidden gem of Antelope, then winds through the remote beauty of Antelope Creek, King Creek, and King Canyon. It’s a ride rich with history—once the “Wool Capital of the World".

Week 15… we got the underground piping in, parking area leveled, Basecamp looking good…. And Dark Sky Resource Library soft opening!!! We still have some work to do on the room and gear that is on back order that should be here soon, but in celebration of International Dark Sky Week (April 13-20th) we will have this room open. Week 14- trenching for water and power is now underway. It’s incredible the amount of work that “GOES UNDERGROUND” that people don’t see. What this means though is no overhead wires for electrical so it will be better for stargazing! This week we also got Cabin 10 online. Some guests have asked for the beds to be “move able” to they can shift the cabins around. We listened and happy to accommodate this new feature for cabin 10. It’s available online for booking now. This next week we are busy getting the dark sky library room ready for a soft opening on April 13th. Stay tuned for more to come. #antelope #darksky #oregon #building #history

Week 13- market received all NEW WINDOWS!!! what a treat to see the building with new glass. Also across at the Basecamp we received our International Dark Sky Lodging Experience certification. This might seem small… but it was a lot of work. So with that said, we are officially launching our dark sky library soft opening the week of International Dark Sky April 13-20th. Week 12: hvac lines went in, new back garage door added, septic drain lines getting covered, gravel to prep for a parking lot, then across the street at Basecamp the shop got painted and new lounge chairs!!!
