So here it is......Alongside 14 other amazing works, this thing goes live tonight. "Magma" is a site specific light artwork commissioned for @islandoflight.art on the beautiful island of Smögen in Bohusländ on the West Coast of Sweden.This thing is massive at getting on for 25 meters high and 170m wide.The whole of the area around here is made of granite... magma bubbled up between tectonic plates millions of years ago, cooling under the earth's surface... Over time the land that was above eroded away leaving a batholith; extensive islands of exposed granite.... In parts of the cliffs here you can even see how the liquid rock flowed....it's like time travelling! What a place! A huge thank you to Island of Light for the opportunity and everything they and their tech team have done to make this happen! Sun Glitter is a mesmeric projection artwork that draws from the optical phenomenon where light dances across the ocean's surface, creating shimmering trails.This fleeting natural spectacle is reimagined onto the angular, tessellated facade of Blackpool's Wedding Chapel.
