Don't miss the retrospective sweep of Marcel Duchamp at MOMA, NYC. The first rooms reveal the dizzy pace at which Duchamp dabbled in and grasped the history of art, quickly shifting his nimble mind on to identity games, readymades, wordplay, chess, kinetic science, commerce, eroticism... a deeply inspirational show. Duchamp as an explosive, influential sleeper cell. Where next? Duchamp famously said in 1961 "The great artist of tomorrow will go underground."

For my sequential art friends--every original art page of the great 1969 dystopian graphic novel SOFT CITY by Hariton Pushwagner is on display at The New Museum's "New Humans" exhibit in NYC. Yes, you can also see futuristic cities, Alien, E.T., animatromics and more, but this original art was the highlight of the show for me. Sorry for the bad photos, too many lights and reflections. "Who controls the controller?"

yeah, this is what happens when Marvel invites the comic book writers to a TV premier-- we hide in a booth in the back, then we get silly. With DD writers @frankmillerofficial @snapcracklesteph Charles Soule, Chip Zdarsky, and Red Hook @deanhaspiel_art Of course, the DD stars were very nice too.
(and thanks to @whatpaigeisit for the last photo)

There is a room at the American Academy of Arts and Letters in NYC where the walls are haunted by 100 years of images of luminaries (some dead, some living). It was there I ran into photos of two old friends who died, who I love dearly, June Leaf & Robert Frank. June is smiling, in her favorite place, her studio. Robert wears a New Brunswick King Cole Tea hat and I like to imagine he is smiling inside.

Lucy Sante's cryptic and fascinating collages are at the American Academy of Arts and Letters in Washington Heights, along with three floors of art to explore of new displays and permanent collections. Well worth a visit!
Sorry for the terrible photos of Lucy's collages, it was a room of chandelier reflections. Third image is Lucy's new book! @luxxante ❤️
