✨JANUARY IN A SPACE CAPSULE✨
We meet in an hour of change,
in a decade of hope and fear,
where knowledge burns like a distant star
and ignorance unfolds in the dark.
We are small on this turning stone,
yet we name Space our neighbour.
We choose the path that cuts our skin,
the climb that steals our breath.
Not because the road is gentle,
but because our bones remember fire.
We choose the questions without maps,
the summit hidden in the clouds,
the void that hums with unborn galaxies.
We choose the Moon that shines within us,
the orbit drawn by stubborn dreams.
We choose the tides that break our patterns,
the gravity of what might be.
For there is a gate in every dream
that only opens to the brave.
And The All waits with folded arms
to see if we will turn the key.
So let the fear become your compass,
Your limits, scaffolds for the leap.
Let every failure light a beacon
over the wreckage of an ‘almost’.
We stand, a fragile, restless species,
on the shore of an unexplored sea,
at the roots of a limitless sky,
and whisper to the silent distance:
I am coming, because you are there.

By 2026, I only ask to continue finding comfort in the warmth of my mother’s hand.
Be safe 💜
After a lifetime as a flautist, yesterday was my first time playing in a house band at @chefamsterdam And for the first time in months, I felt that spark again, the kind of energy that only comes from performing with other musicians.
Then again, it was easy, considering the ridiculously talented artists I got to share the stage with.
Earlier this week, I was talking to a friend who used to be a professional musician. He told me he doesn’t play anymore. And as I listened, I felt sad for him.
Because music has always been the place I go to when words fall short. It’s how I process the heavy stuff, how I make sense of the unspeakable.
And today, I felt lucky to be able to tap back into that power. I lost myself in the melody, in the rhythm. I played, I sang, I danced, more like myself than I have in a long time.
Because music is one of the few things no one can ever take away from me 💜

Today I turn a year older. And it’s always a moment for me to look back at the last 365 days. Not to dwell, but to witness the journey.
Each year, I meet a new version of myself. And every time I look back, I realise how much I have shifted; in thought, in courage, in (self)love. But through all the change, there are constants. And music is one of them.
The first photo is from 2014: a younger me, flute in hand, already in conversation with music for over 10 years. The last one is from this March: still playing, still searching for the next note, still finding comfort in this instrument.
For that, I’m deeply grateful: for the music that surrounds me, holds me, challenges me, and reminds me who I am.
And you know how I am celebrating my birthday this year? Releasing an EP of remixes of our song THE ALAN WATTS THEME. by @rachman_music and @stupidplusplus from @mlemmlemmlemmlemrecords 💜 What a present for the ears!
If you’d like to celebrate this new year of mine: pick one of those tracks, or any of our AlmabuenA tracks and give it a listen. Maybe it’s not your thing — but then at least you’ll know why! And who knows? Perhaps we’ll meet in the sacred space where our songs exist.
I am (freaking) proud of who I am becoming. Of the melody that keeps unfolding, and the silence that gives it contrast.

For the past month, every time someone asked to meet up, my answer was the same: “Sorry, I’m busy working on a project.” That project was WieNaamIk 💛
WieNaamIk is a multidisciplinary project that includes research with 6 dancers and 6 transcultural therapists, 6 mini-documentaries exploring their stories, and a very touching premiere performance last Friday at CC Amstel. But overall, WieNaamIlk has been a labour of love, And I’m beyond grateful for everyone who was involved.
This project was orchestrated by the creative mind of Henry O’Tawiah. Every idea he dreams up becomes a reality, and I’m so grateful to have been a part of it 💜
We started with a promo video and photo shoot at where I had the opportunity to work with @dauphinerosalie . She filmed the promo video, and we used her shots also for the documentaries. Her work added so much depth to the project!
Over the last three weeks, we filmed -at @tolhuistuin but also, all over Amsterdam!- and edited 6 mini-documentaries, IN DUCTH!!- to get them ready for the Premiere! It was a real challenge, but I am blessed to have the opportunity to work on such a beautiful project.
To the 6 dancers – Sigourney, Croes, Darren, Chivano, Ciara, and Chandrion – you touched me deeply, and it was a privilege to capture your journeys on film.
To the team at Solid Ground Movement – Marqué, a rockstar producer who made magic happen under tight deadlines; Paul, our finance wizard and subtitle reviewer; and Bryan, always a rock of support – thank you!
To the Expertisecentrum Transculturele Therapie team, thank you for sharing your knowledge and for the work you do. No wonder there’s a waiting list for your services!
To the folks at CC Amstel, especially Inge for her beautiful light design and Tom for his support – you made the premiere shine!
To the music composers, Lamsi and Dimitri, and Jillis for the video mapping projections – you all brought the dancers’ stories to life with such artistry. Also to Jorgos for the after movie!
And ofc, a special thanks to Irwan for your technical expertise and to Barry, who handled the sound with such care and creativity.
✨What an amazing way to end this year✨

For the past month, every time someone asked to meet up, my answer was the same: “Sorry, I’m busy working on a project.” That project was WieNaamIk 💛

A couple of days ago was my last photo + video gig of the year, and honestly, it couldn’t have been more special. I got to be part of Off The Beaten Track, a pilot event created by Amarja—who happens to be one of my first freelance clients in 2017. (Full circle moment, anyone?)
This event brought together 14 incredible women to talk about leadership. The evening was full of laughter, honest conversations, and that buzz you feel when you’re around people who just get it. It reminded me how powerful it is when women come together to lift each other up.
Huge shoutout to Amarja for trusting me to capture these moments. My camera and I left with so many good vibes!

✨TODAY I AM TURNING 40✨😎💜🚀
As I look back at this picture, I can’t believe everything that has happened from then until now. It feels like I’ve already lived a lifetime, yet every morning I wake up to the warm breeze of a new beginning. My dear Carl Jung, whose books have been my companions and guides from my nightstand to the vast land of the unconscious, said it best: “Life really does begin at forty. Up until then, you are just doing research.”
Paradoxically, I am wiser than ever, yet also more aware than ever that I don’t know a damn thing. I am deeply in love with how my beautiful mind works, and I treasure everyone who connects with it. And I am also deeply in love with all the scars that needed healing, as they have given me the most valuable insights to connect with myself and transform. 🦋🦋🦋
As I look back at this picture, I can’t believe how little that gaze full of questions has changed. And despite the obstacles that appear on my path, I always wear a smile, since joy, play and kindness are my weapons of choice facing this World. As the only constant is change, life is what our thoughts make it.
Stay curious, kiddos 💜 See you on the other side!
That amazing feeling of being over the clouds 🚀

Life works in mysterious ways. Just a week ago, I got recommended in a post on LinkedIn by a former client of mine. I am always very honoured when somebody who I worked with brings up my name, but I didn’t expect to find such an interesting project behind that recommendation. Fast forward to this week, I started working with Simone on her foundation: ROOTS.
With a strong focus on education and research, this inspiring woman is determined to gathered the best artists in The Netherlands that are working on the field of bio-based and circular design. The goal is to showcase their innovative work in April at the Milan Design Week, at Masterly Milano.
As part of the exhibition, there will be a series of interviews of the artists explaining their work. And together we are exploring the most engaging way to do so. The first filming day was last Monday at Museum Kranenburgh where we captured the organic pieces from Diana Scherer.
I feel so grateful that destiny made our paths cross in this exciting challenge. This collaboration is already bringing us both so much joy! I can’t wait to show you more in the coming weeks :)
