October 25th marks the 6th anniversary of our dear Thumper’s passing.
Thumper’s favourite song was Sultans of Swing by Dire Straights. We know this because he liked to bob his head to it. In addition to this song, he also really loved house music and some disco records. He loved the smell of pizza even though he could never have any, and went crazy, standing on his hinds for dried fruit we called “happy fruitti.” He would snuggle up with you and stay with you for hours and snore while he slept, feeling safe and content as can be.
The day he flopped over on Dan’s foot was the day that I converted a dog person into a rabbit person. The rest is history. If we didn’t have Thumper in our lives back then, we wouldn’t have gotten to rescue Brume, and we probably would not have even met Angus and Ava, the stars of our lives now.
When he was sick we wanted to take him everywhere. We even took him to the barber shop and he hopped around the through the hair cuttings and looked at cars passing by through the window. He gladly welcomed a strawberry as a treat from the barber after our visit.
Thumper changed myself and my partner for the better. He taught us how we should live…like tomorrow isn’t an option.
We love you, Thumper…furever and ever. 🩶🤍🩶
