This one hurt not gonna lie. I was thrilled when my dream collaboration made it into my inbox, but I had to be really smart this time and remember that not every collaboration is a guaranteed success. With the cost of the products themselves, the campaign assets , the marketing, etc launching a collection is already so expensive adding in an upfront minimum guarantee (that can range from $10,000-$30,000 upfront) paid to the collaborator PLUS a percentage of sales going forward can sometimes be detrimental to small businesses. Although me standing my ground led to me being ghosted, I ultimately think it was the best thing for us moving forward. What do you think?
