Saturday Synth Jam // Episode 244-

I just know I'm going to have so much fun with this new plugin!

Liminal by @flickswitchaudio just came out and I had the pleasure of trying it early. Huge thanks to the team behind this one!

So, the premise behind this plugin is that you choose 3 different effects and isolate 3 areas of transient intensity. Then you can manage the combination of effects on those 3 specific lanes. (It's more in depth than that, but you get the idea)

So, I ran an arp on the @rolandglobal SH-4D through it and the results were super fun!

I'm excited to try this on drums and other much more transient heavy tracks!

Essex Honey by Blood Orange has been one of my most listened to albums of the past year and I had to talk about it.

Dev hynes builds these layers that just wrap around you — harmonies stacked on top of each other, textures that shift before you even notice they've changed. Little textural moments that reveal themselves on the fifth or sixth listen. It's the kind of record you put on when you just want to disappear into something.

Cozy doesn't even cover it. It's warm, it's dense, it rewards patience.

Anyway, ended up going way longer than I planned on for this one so we're doing two parts. 😅

Sometimes you just need to sit with a good sound for a while.

Raizes by @zaksound has been that sound lately, so deep and immersive. I keep getting lost in it...in the best way!

For this week's jam, I'm using the Auralis library. I love these sounds in particular because of the layers of arps and field recordings. Feels like morning to me. 🌅

New addition to the studio 🖤

I just got my hands on the @softubestudios Flow Studio (thank you @zzoundsmusic) and honestly it's changing the way I work! I can go from a rough track to draft mix in seconds, I love it!

I tend to stay fairly in-the-box these days with my production and this has become much more than just a controller for me, I find it VERY intuitive and quick.

My biggest thing is I don't want my creativity halted just so I can menu dive or browse my hard drives for the right plug-ins to use... and this has solved that problem.

Also, look at that screen! It looks like gear that costs twice as much!
