It's okay to feel stress. π
Find a moment today β even if it's just a minute β to take a break and check in with yourself.

One life can impact far more people than we may realize. π
Each year in the United States, more than 49,000 lives are lost to suicide. For every life lost, at least 135 people are affected. That means more than 6.5 million people experience the ripple effects of suicide every year.
As the largest private funder of suicide prevention research, AFSP supports over $30 million in research, while our 73 chapters bring education, advocacy, and support directly into communities nationwide.

While we know that many factors can affect your mental health, we also know that community is a protective factor against suicide. π
Community provides a safety net of people who care and can reach out when someone may be at risk. It is a useful and lasting way of strengthening our own mental health while being there for one another. π«β¨

Safety is a key component of daily life on construction jobsites around the country. Teams run through safety checklists starting their shift: Hard hat β
Safety vest β
... Mental healthβ
Construction workers experience the second highest rate of suicide over any other industry. But mental health rarely makes it onto the safety meeting agenda.
