Creative Lives in Progress
An inclusive creative careers resource, on a mission to transform the way emerging talent access the industry.

“I had a really weird journey starting out,” says illustrator River Cousin (@rivercousin). From dropping out on his first day of uni to learning via creative play, he’s a poster boy for the non-traditional career route.
Now, he has a self-sufficient practice creating and selling prints and working on commissions for album art, film posters and more – with clients ranging from A24 to The New York Times.
From undercharging in the early days to staying true to your own creative voice, read River’s Creative Lives over at the link in our bio.

If your career plan currently lives in a Notes app titled “figure life out” (we’ve all been there) — this might be exactly what you’re after.
Career HIIT is a 12-week reset that’s short enough to stay focused, but long enough to actually get somewhere.
Instead of trying to predict the next five years, you’re testing what works right now and building from there:
1️⃣Audit where you’re at.
2️⃣ Pick a couple of priorities that matter.
3️⃣ Repeat the work properly.
4️⃣ Then reset and go again.
If you’re feeling ready for more full-body career training, comment ‘Sprint’ and we’ll send you the routine breakdown on creativelivesinprogress.com

Created in collaboration with @annieleibovitz, the Saltzman-Leibovitz Photography Prize spotlights emerging women photographers from around the world.
This year’s artists included:
📍 Marisol Mendez (@marisol___mendez) — the 2026 winner, and a photographer and researcher from Cochabamba, Bolivia, whose project MADRE explores Bolivian identity, folklore and matriarchal lineage through staged imagery and family archives.
📍 Lindeka Qampi (@lindekaqampi_ww) — a self-taught South African photographer documenting township life through striking, symbolic portraiture.
📍 Miranda Barnes (@mirandabarnes) — the runner-up, and a US-based documentary photographer whose series Social Season captures Black debutante culture with warmth, care and attention to tradition.
A selection of work from all five nominees will be exhibited at @photolondonfair this month — and if this year’s line-up is anything to go by, it’s definitely a prize to keep an eye on next year.
