A banana shall always be dignified and fluffy and full of potassium.
A banana shall only retain acid if it is for expressive purposes.
A banana shall be yellow or green or brown or black except on Tuesdays.
Tuesdays are the days of our banana lords and should be treated as an exception to typical banana laws and regulations.

Announcing Banana Acid and Ro Lundberg at BMC March 22nd at 7pm.
About the artists:
Banana Acid @ban.anaacid is an improvising unit made up of Aaron Kaufman-Levine, Caroline Jesalva, Erez Dessel, Garrett Frees, and Tyler Wagner. Their dedication to spontaneous composition draws on their deep individual studies of various improvised music traditions. For Banana Acid, love is the message, and the message marches forward.A creative and adventurous force in the world of the avant-garde, their sound is uncompromising, and their musical approach pushes at the boundaries of free jazz.
Ro(b)//ert Lundberg @robonbass makes sound and image, thinks about and drinks water. Now based in Chicago, they have performed throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe at festivals such as Big Ears and CURRENTS New Media. They perform solo and with outfits ranging from improvising ensembles to art rock band JOBS. Their multimedia artistic work often focuses on the interaction of human infrastructure and the spaces it inhabits. They earned a BFA in jazz performance from The New School (New York) and graduate degrees in law and environmental art at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
About the show:
Banana Acid and Ro Lundberg join flows to present Lundberg's by-passing-upon, a set-length piece fascinated by the ways water moves with and against boundaries humans attempt to erect. Guided by Lundberg's hybrid graphic/notated score, the improvising quintet will join Lundberg in navigating flows, pools, and clouds of musical material, realizing a work existing in the fluid space between pre-composed and improvised music. The performance at Bridgeport Music Collective will invite attendees into the sonic as well as the visual and textual world of the project, with musicians moving through the space to engage tapestry-size scores, while visual projections and a poetic, auto-theoretical narrative weave through the performance. 15$ suggested donation

🚨Modular Mode🚨
This is the second clip from my last Julián and Friends at the @jazz_showcase presented by @fulcrumpoint for my curatorial residency. This was a modular set where we only played tunes where the form was interchangeable, and this clip shows the piece I spent the most time on, an uber modular, ever changing structure I called Modular Mode. I am so happy we were able to make this come to life. This is one of those ideas that I have had that I have not been sure could be realized but because of the dedication of these incredible musicians, we were able to bring life to this complicated improvisational landscape.
