My nephew Hagen and I had the opportunity to visit this iconic set with as they shot season 5 thanks to @bjnovak. “Ryan’s” hair was bleached at the time so we couldn’t take pictures, possibly revealing any spoilers. Thanks to BJ @mindykaling & @msjennafischer for the tour and hospitality on that unforgettable day…. and the unfettered access to Pam’s reception desk.

It was all a blur: started the decade with one son and ended it with a second… and a videogame.

In skateboarding, you’ll find that some tricks are so difficult, scary, or precise that you might only want to do them once and never again. For me, this one fit all three categories: 360 shuv to back lip, about a decade ago… or maybe it was last week. I can’t tell anymore.

New mystery skaters unlocked: this footage is from a 1980 art film project featuring local skaters riding a homemade ramp setup (aka the “Advanced Riding Bowl”) outside an abandoned prison in Philadelphia, and was recently discovered by @worse_arms. Now to the important issue: who are these rippers doing edgers, foot-plants, fakie hangups, inverts, frontside airs and MILLER FLIPS on a janky quarterpipe?!?! Looks like a couple of them are riding Alba Kryptonics from that era. If you recognize any of these pioneers please share the wisdom. Thanks to all the homies that sent this my way. 🪏💎🛹

It’s quite possibly the most important Birthday in Skateboarding today… it’s @tonyhawk ‘s Birthday 🥳 🎈🎂. The Birdman 🦅 himself turns 58 years old today but with the way he still rips, you would never know it. We could list off all his accomplishments and all the things he’s done for skateboarding over the years but instead we just wanted to relive his epic Battle Commander and remind ourselves why he’s the King… as if we needed a reminder. 😉

Happy Mother’s Day to those with the most challenging and thankless jobs out there, and to the ones who embrace the role without the bloodline. Your efforts resonate further than you can imagine.
Here’s a pic of Nancy Hawk at age 80 on the maiden voyage of “my” rollercoaster at @sixflagsstlouis. She raised 4 kids on a high school secretary salary and my dad’s income from the Navy. Before she passed away in 2019, she said “sometimes I wished there was more in the coffer, but I was rich in love”
