Daysi Lebron was born and raised in La Romana, Dominican Republic, where she began her journey as a hairstylist, running a small home-based salon. In 1982, she moved to the United States with her oldest son to build a better future with her husband and growing family.
After working factory jobs to support her household, Daysi discovered her passion for baking in 1989 while raising her three sons at home. She started selling cakes from her apartment on Post Avenue, building a loyal customer base through dedication and word of mouth.
After nearly a decade of growing her business from home, she opened her first storefront, Bizcocho de Colores, on Sherman Avenue in 2001. She later expanded to a larger location in 2003, where the bakery continues to thrive today—a testament to her resilience, faith, and the strong support of her community.
Thank you @mamichulasocialclub & @chulaincharge for my mothers recognition 💐💐💐💐💐💐

✂️ Chop It Up: A Barbershop Talk✂️
Barbershops have always been a safe space for Black men to connect, learn, and build.
Last night at @thebarberfactory the room was packed—men of all ages, community leaders, and young people showing up for each other.
We need more spaces like this—where real conversations lead to real change.
Huge thanks to @riseprojectnyc and The Barber Factory for sponsoring free haircuts, and to my colleagues @jamaaltbailey36, @cmchrisbanks , and @landondais77 for standing in community with us. To the young people in the room—your voice and engagement exemplify leadership now and forthe future. 💈
This is just the beginning. What borough should we bring Chop It Up to next? ⬇️ #ChopItUp #BlackMaleExcellence
