Thank you for @northwesthats for letting me try out replacements for my Panama Hat that wore out. You were correct that it would be best for everyone if I just stuck with what worked.

From welcoming Rotarians to the District Conference, to greeting residents at #SpringCleanup, to knocking doors for the election, it’s been an amazing weekend of community work and connection across Springfield.
Please make sure to vote by May 19th to an election drop box. Every vote matters.

#TBT Last Friday, I had the opportunity to join Guy Lee PTO and Guy Lee Elementary School for their 4th Annual AANHPI Celebration and thank them for all of their hard work putting on such a wonderful event for the Springfield community.
It was great to see so many families come together to celebrate culture, community, and connection. 🌺

Happy Mother’s Day to Elaine, my mom, and Susan (my mother in law)! Three women that continue to inspire me with their love and support.

It was a great day to get down to Roseburg for some time with Mema and Uncle Ian.
Throwback Thursday: Before this building became the PublicHousehub it was a place of worship, then Sprout through NEDCO (Dev Northwest — a home for local food entrepreneurs. During that chapter, the City partnered with NEDCO and invested CDBG funds to help revitalize the space.
Springfield has always been at its best when we work together to breathe new life into the places we share.

Last Saturday morning in downtown Springfield. A pancake at Addi’s Diner and meeting a family visiting from Portland who were exploring Main Street. I shared the story behind the Springfield Simpsons Mural. A good reminder of how much energy our small businesses and public art bring to downtown. Grateful for the people who keep Springfield welcoming.

Throwback Thursday during a special week for one of downtown’s great partners 🎉 @planktownbrew took a chance on Main Street in 2013, helping spark the momentum that brought new life to downtown. As they celebrate another birthday, we’re grateful for the role they’ve played in strengthening the heart of Springfield ❤️.

Honored to celebrate the people behind the badge at tonight’s Springfield Police Department awards ceremony.
Public safety is a calling. It’s about showing up, serving others, and doing the right thing when it matters most. Congratulations to the officers and staff recognized tonight, and thank you to the families who stand beside them every day. Our community is stronger because of you.

Throwback Thursday 📸 This image shows Main Street in Springfield around 1920, looking east from the corner of 4th and Main.
On the right is the Commercial State Bank, with Flanery’s Drugstore on the ground floor, a place that was as much about community as it was commerce. On the left is Eggiman’s Bank, owned by Charles Eggiman, who would go on to serve as Springfield’s mayor in 1921.
You can spot pedestrians, early automobiles, storefront awnings, and overhead lines, all signs of a growing city stepping into the modern era.
It is a reminder that Springfield has always been shaped by people willing to invest here, lead here, and believe in our future. Different century, same spirit.

I was grateful to join the community and fellow leaders this morning in celebrating The Shedd Institute for the Arts and the opening of its beautiful new northeast entrance.
For 35 years, The Shedd has strengthened our region through the arts, including meaningful partnerships with Springfield schools and performances at the Wildish Theater. Their work inspires students, families, and audiences across Lane County.
The arts are a vital part of a healthy, connected, and thriving community, and I’m grateful for organizations like The Shedd that make that possible.
