"One loves the sunset when one is so sad..." 🪐

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry wrote those words in The Little Prince. Dennis Scholl (@schollcreative) saw something in them that spoke to the opposite: the pure, uncomplicated joy of John Glenn watching the sun set four times as he circled Earth in 1962.

A Day of Four Sunsets holds both feelings at once. Sadness and wonder. The intimate and the infinite. Assembled from real NASA artifacts, mission patches, and declassified documents, Scholl's work reframes history as something personal, poetic, and deeply human.

Currently on view at OMA.

In honor of the Pulitzer Prize awards this week I had dinner at Joes with my own Pulitzer Prize winning friend, one of the great photo journalists around the world, Patrick Farrell !Debra and Jodi were there too!But somehow did not make it into the pic.Sorry!Also since we were at Joe's, Patrick sent me this picture of Joe's long time maître d' , Roy on his retirement day.@kareemtabsch and I were fortunate enough to have Patrick take our photo for @miamiherald when The Last Resort came out. I was just asked to reply to a poll from the Democratic Partyasking if I had to choose a nominee for president who would it be? I thought for a minute and said, after the week this guy had, maybe he would be up for it?! 😳😳😳🤩🤩🤩😉😉

Making indie films is a series of small steps repeated over and over, mixed with a lot of hope and effort.And then every once in a while you have a lovely moment.
For our short film , “ George V,” this is one of the loveliest of moments.Indie filmmakers know the care and attention @vimeo pays to ther staff picks, so to be chosen for this honor means a lot to our team, @edtalavera , #diakontaxis, and yours truly.With much thx as always to #scottpringle!And our course to @gary_monroe_photography for being the defender of so many works of art that would have been otherwise lost.@highmuseumofart and the team there did an incredible job of bringing George’s story to wider acclaim, especially @kjentleson ,check out the film!!!

Wow.What a night !Hundreds of folks came to see my show @orlandomuseumofart . ( maybe as many as 800?! ). The exhibit runs through June 14.
