Just stop it.

Stop it with the “well you can pay for more hours” and the “well we have to pay our staff to be there”. SO DO WE. None of us want to work for free, so we include those fees within our prices instead of nickeling and diming clients.

You sure love the content, and how good your venue looks in those high end setups, but you won’t quite facilitate them. You can’t be in the “luxury” market and expect your clients to pick basic setups, and your vendors to deliver elaborate designs in 4 hours and clean up in 1 hour 😏

Can we just all be better team players and deliver the best to our clients??

I always say: you don’t hire a planner for when things go right, you hire one for when things go wrong.

During our setup for this wedding reception, the draping came crashing down on seven tables before we were able to stop it. Broken vases, candle sticks, crushed flowers and linens drenched in water and glass - just 2.5 hours before the room reveal.

We were so fortunate that no one got hurt - and that’s why you want all your vendors to carry liability insurance.

Every single vendor here sprinted into action to source and replace broken items, and set up again as quickly as possible. Not only were we able to do it, but we also stuck to our original schedule for the room reveal.

Was I freaking out on the inside? Yes I was. Did we get it done like pros? Yes we did. Was I proud of every single vendor in that room? Abso-freakin-lutely.

This is why hiring professional and experienced vendors matters. This is why paying the right value for these vendors is priceless!

Here’s what clients don’t always realize: late or missed payments can actually put your event at risk.

A lot of your event details are ordered months in advance, and florals are often secured weeks ahead of time. So when payments are delayed, you’re risking items not arriving on time, or not getting exactly what you asked for.

And trust me, the last thing your vendors want is to fall short of the vision you hired them for.

Also, friendly reminder: your vendors are real people with bills, payroll, families, and responsibilities too. Imagine it’s payday at your job… and your employer says, “Can I pay you next week?”
