βFrom Prototype to Partnership: Powering CreaTech Innovation Through Collaboration.β
The session explored how collaboration between academia, industry, creatives, and innovators can transform early-stage ideas into real-world impact, a conversation that felt especially relevant as immersive and creative technologies continue to evolve at pace.
Chaired by Prof. Lamberto Coccioli, Director of CreaTech Frontiers, the panel brought together an inspiring group of speakers from across the creative technology ecosystem:
β¨ Pamela Aculey and Alex Kosminsky, Co-Founders of @mixd_realityltd Reality, shared insights into building inclusive and immersive AR storytelling experiences that bridge technology, education, and accessibility.
β¨ Jennine Jones, Student Enterprise Manager at Birmingham City University, highlighted the importance of nurturing entrepreneurial talent and supporting innovation pathways for emerging creatives and founders.
β¨ John Sewell, Founder of @cosimoartonline , discussed the role digital innovation can play in creating more accessible and sustainable opportunities for artists and creative communities.
β¨ Wenge Xu, Senior Lecturer at Birmingham City University, reflected on the growing importance of collaboration between research, education, and industry in shaping future-facing creative technologies.

The European Athletics Championships is set to take place for the first time ever in the UK, bringing Europeβs top athletes to Birmingham for a week of world class athletics in August.
Through the partnership, BCU students will benefit from a wide range of opportunities, including volunteering roles, paid positions, and industry-relevant experience. The collaboration will also see BCU host the European Athletics Championshipsβ Future Leaders Forum, providing an inspiring setting for future-focused conversations.
The partnership also reflects a shared commitment to creating a lasting legacy whereby BCU will play an active role in supporting the Championshipsβ Beyond 26 impact plan, driving community engagement and sustainable initiatives.
BCUβs world-class Sports and Exercise Sciences courses, based at the iconic Alexander Stadium, will further support the successful delivery of the event and enhance the experience for athletes and visitors alike.
We look forward in playing our part in delivering an unforgettable celebration of sport in our city this summer!
