Maharam
Founded in 1902, Maharam is a leading creator of textiles for interiors.
In a collaborative exploration of materiality and form, @CranbrookIndustrialDesign students produced a collection of functional objects for the home from hojalata, or tinplate, on view through May 28 in our New York showroom. Animation by #MaharamMedia.

Out now, @TheGrandTouristPodcast's newest print issue highlights fashion designer and #MaharamCollaborator @SanderLak's exuberant instinct for color and ongoing collaboration with our design studio. Photography by @NickBallon.

"Every detail remains visible, and the result is true to its form.” For #MaharamStories, Natalia Torija highlights the integrity and materiality of hojalatería, an artisanal, Mexican metal-smithing process, as explored in a collaborative workshop with @CranbrookIndustrialDesign. Link in bio.

In October, @leon_ransmeier invited designer @fabien.cappello to lead a workshop at the @cranbrook_art introducing students to the traditional Mexican craft of hojalatería. “The question becomes: How can we develop a contemporary language through an understated technique?" says Ransmeier.
The work culminated in a series of functional household objects crafted from thin metal sheets, all of which are on view in the MillerKnoll Archives Silo and now at @maharamstudio NYC showroom during NYCxDESIGN.
