⭐️ Rick Christiansen is the author of Bone Fragments (2024) and Not a Hero (2025). Spartan Press. His work has received two 2025 Pushcart Prize nominations. He was a finalist for the RHINO Poetry 2025 Founders Prize and is featured in their 50th Anniversary edition. He is a jury selected finalist for the 2025 Rhysling Award and will be published in their 2026 annual. His poems can be found in North American Review, RHINO, Thimble, Pennsylvania English and Anti-Heroin Chic along with many other journals and publications. His poems explore survival, memory, class, and the residue of violence. He lives in Kansas City with his wife Kim and his dog B.

⭐️ Chris Billings is a member of San Antonio’s Maverick Poets as well as the Poem In Your Pocket Group in Schertz, TX. He was a member of the former Sun Poet’s Society of San Antonio and co-host of their weekly open mic for more than 10 years. He’s been writing poetry for over 50 years, writing his first poem at 17. He’s self-published several books/chapbooks of poetry and his poems have appeared in several anthologies. He lives in Schertz, TX.

Samantha will begin her feature set at 7:30pm, followed by another round of open mic. Admission is free and open to all ages. All are welcome. WNP will always be a safe space.

⭐️ Samantha Youngs earned a Master’s degree in Library Science from the University of North Texas, and two bachelors degrees from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, one in English and one in International Studies. She graduated with both undergraduate degrees in 2011. Her English degree had an emphasis in creative writing, and she was a William G. Cooper Honors Student during her undergraduate experience.She researched, wrote a paper about, and presented on the shamanic themes found in the life, letters, and poetry of the 19th century Romantic poet John Keats. Her favorite poem is “Invictus” by William Ernest Henley.
