It took me three tries to finally make it out here for various reasons; here’s a trail guide so you can experience it the right way the first time:

🥾 Trail: Hidden Falls and Seven Pools loop, in Auburn CA.This is another great trail that’s on my California hidden gem and trail map (link in bio)

🍺 featured (21+ only!): Knee Deep Brewing Company.  I quite literally couldn’t think of a better IPA - Hidden Falls - for Hidden Falls trail.It’s literally designed from this trail! (Ad)

🅿️ Fee: $8. ⚠️ An advanced reservation is often required online.There’s limited cell phone service and approximately 90 spaces sold per day.Screen shot your reservation before coming.
 
📅 Best times to visit: Now for swimming; spring for full waterfalls

📏 Difficulty: Moderate.This is a 4.5 mile loop, there’s a shorter route at just over 3 miles that still gets to the falls.

🏔️ Elevation: ~600 ft

🦮 Friendly: Yes!

👧 👦 friendly: Kid friendly with rocks, pools and other engaging activities.If you can make it out to the Seven Pond loop, stop by Turtle pond to see clear water and lots of fish!

♿️: No, but nearby Hidden Gateway is - a short loop without waterfall access view

🚽 facilities: at parking lot

🕶️ Shade: Some shade and lots of sun, particularly near the Raccoon Creek.

🛂 Tips: ⚠️ Please make sure to check the weather before going.It can get extremely hot so bring sufficient sunscreen and water.My @rticoutdoors backpack cooler was a must to keep the 🍺 and family lunch cold!

Whichever route you do, make sure to go past hidden falls and check out the second viewing platform of Canyon View Bridge.

Across from the viewing platform is an entry to Canyon View trail and for those that are willing, you can climb down right to the other waterfall.Bring gloves - the rocks get super hot in the heat!
