I want to recommend this great book which is both a history and a deeply knowledgeable observation of the legendary place called Hollywood. Reading it will make you an insider in the realities of the dream factory.
FYI this is in part a history of a legend of Hollywood who also happens to be my Agent, written by his son, Matthew Spector. However my championing of the book is not influenced by that. Just read the reviews to see what I mean!
