“Walking into the space feels like stepping into the world of Sanderlak,” #CFDAmember Sander Lak says of his new monthlong retail residency in Chinatown.
The space brings together the #CFDAmember’s complete fashion vision - including the collection and personal items -
and speaks to the brand’s three pillars of color, texture, and fit.
“The location, light, and energy of Chinatown just felt perfect for it,” he adds.
Run, don’t walk to 2 East Broadway! Head to CFDA.com for more about the pop-up.

“There’s nothing more important right now than human connections, good food, friends, and joy,” #CFDAMember @gabrielahearst said last night at Bar Oliver, addressing a high-fashion crowd that included designers, industry friends, and notables such as Wesley Schultz of #TheLumineers, Oz Pearlman, and Colombian superstar #NanpaBásico.
“And so,” she added, “if we can have all that today, I would be very, very pleased.”
Consider this a mission accomplished. The cocktail, with the CFDA, was fabulous.
The crowd also included Daniella Kallmeyer, Edmundo Castillo, Glenda Bailey, Maria Cornejo, Batsheva Hay, Camilla Nickerson, Edvin Thompson, Prabal Gurung, Sander Lak, Ashlynn Park, Elie Tahari, Emily Smith, and Lizzie Fortunato.

The theme of this year’s Met Gala, “Fashion is Art,” offered a subtle nod to the spring Costume Institute exhibition, “Costume Art.” To interpret this idea, Friend of the CFDA @jamesafrazier looked to @daveedbaptiste, the second winner of the Frazier Family Foundation x Empowered Vision Award, for his look that night.
“I wanted the look to engage the theme by treating fashion as art on the body — not just as decoration, but a way of carrying form, movement, and narrative,” Frazier said. “The Met Gala brings together fashion, art, culture, media, and influence like no other event, and having the Empowered Vision Award recipient represented there is incredibly meaningful.”
We followed the process from sketch to suit and spoke to both Frazier and Baptiste along the way.

From Beyoncé to Pharrell, Western-wear has found a new life across fashion and music. #CFDAMember @nickfouquet has quietly helped define that shift, shaping the role of headwear within it.
His approach —rooted in lived experience and guided by intuition rather than trend—continues to redefine the role of hats within contemporary fashion. In the process, he has cultivated a tribe centered, he said, around “Strong individualism. Eccentricity. A willingness to stand out. People who are more adventurous.”
